What is with these spam fantasy matchups!?!

Post by klompton »

Do we really need page after page of spam fantasy matchups? If so Id suggest a seperate board so rover and vladimir have somewhere to keep each other company.

Hey....they will stay as part of the record and can be searched....so if folks are interested there they are....they tend to sink fast. Just need to tolerate the hypothetical matches for the time being.

Some like them some don't, and yep these are unusual numbers...but I suspect the authors are reading this feedback, perhaps they will lighten up on the pedal a bit.

This often happens when new enthusiasts join our ranks. The elders often get wrankled with these bursts of curiosity. I suggest a good stout and a fine cigar will help us weather the storm.

I agree to a point, that Vladimir guy has made like 500 posts in the last week asking who would beat who.

I'd also point out (since I was singled out for a mention along with Vladimir) that gilgamesh, Giancarlo and Giacomino have each replied to many of these threads. I'm in no way criticizing them for that; I'm pointing it out as it's rather unfair to single me out.

I prefer the fantasy matchups to the threads full of lies and bullsh1t.

Each to his own.

And if you don't like it, eat some sausage.

Moroccan lamb sausage vs Kilbassa?
Spanish chorizo vs Hungarian debrecener?

I like MLS in the first matchup. Unbeatable on home soil.

Your sausage knowledge is vastly superior to mine.

I've heard of Bob Evans, though.

I would go Moroccan lamb sausage in an early KO. One of my favorites and top 10 p4p
Debrecener is tasty but we use Spanish chorizo in about 50 percent of the dishes we cook so I'd go with chorizo by SD

It is, and I've replied in many of them too. As I am a boxing fan, I do enjoy discussing boxing, shocking as that may be to some.

I don't see why they can't coexist. We can have the hypotheticals, and the threads with 20 pages on who paid the mob to pay Ali to pay the NOI to make sure Sam Langford didn't get a title shot using the time machine.

Yeah, exactly. I have no doubt there are more posts in those Ali threads combined than in the Vladimir threads, many of which involve obscure match-ups that only a few are interested in discussing. There's nothing wrong with either of them; big deal.

Frankly, I was enjoying the break from the never-ending Duce-Klompton feud and hoping these two would stop being derailed from what they do best to argue for thirty pages on the merits of whether Thad Spencer was a better contender than Karl Mildenberger.

I want Klompton to get back to what he does best- enlightening me about the golden age of boxing (which I know little about) and being the excellent historian he is, and I want Duce to get back to digging up stuff on obscure 60's/70's guys and filling in blanks for me and being the usually diligent researcher he is.
