I'm hoping for Gonzalez to land the bomb on Mares too. I've been a fan ever since I've first seen him. Exciting fighter, big puncher.

Me too. I remember him from back when he fought Soa on FNF and Vargas on FOX Sports.

BoxRec has Diaz at 6-0.. but I'm pretty sure Showtime had him at 7-1 before the fight..

Dominance by Diaz, only question is whether or not that was a 10-8.

Round: Diaz (10-8)

Diaz 20-17

RD2 Punches Landed/Thrown
Diaz: [29/52, 55%]
Mendoza: [2/32, 6%]

I saw a lot of his fights on HBO latino. His fights were awesome, one of them he his opponent dropped him in the 1st and then he took him out in the 2nd. One of them they each dropped each other in the first 2 rounds and then he took him out in the 3rd. It was awesome

The 3 rounder was William Gonzalez, I forget the name of the guy in the 2 round one I mentioned.

Thought the 2nd was borderline 10-8... went that way myself, Mendoza did nothing.

Never heard the theory that younger fighters "mature" faster at lower weight classes... Probably because the division depth is thinner.. or am I missing something?

A lot of time I don't get to pay as good of attention as I'd like because I'm on here talking to you guys, so tonight when the main card rolls around. I'll just pop in Every 4 rounds to give updates on my scorecard up to that point in the fights.
