I was screaming at the top of my lungs after that first knockdown, whenever Abner was getting up I was screaming "GET HIM JHONNY, GET HIM!!!"

I don't give a sh*t either. I pick the fights with my Boxing brain, but I watch the fights with my heart as a fan, and I was a Jhonny Gonzalez fan tonight. I'm so excited for him. Greatest victory of his career!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been crap talking Gonzalez for a while, but this is what happens when you have a guy like Mares who is willing to take on all styles and doesn't cherry pick. You lose some. No one should ever be undefeated in this sport.

Just another guy who doesn't know how to act when hurt. Hold, hold, hold. Once he started trading he was done.

Gonzalez was barely touching him with a soft jab , just enough to encourage Mares to come a bit closer .. little did Mares know it was a trap and boom welcome to concussion-ville. It was almost like Gonzalez shifted the punch from a body punch then in mid-punch shifted to the jaw.

Anyone who meets Gonzalez better have his right hand plastered to his face for the first 3 or 4 rounds .

Seeing as that left hook gave Mares hell, how do you think a Mares vs Donaire wouldve gone down after watching this fight?

I'd have picked Donaire before the fight.
I just figured Gonzalez would start off well but fade as usual against the top guys.
I was wrong and very glad I was.

You don't seem to realize Jhonny can ice your ass with a right hand too. He's a two hand puncher.
