No Mares/Gonzalez for UK TV? See it here ....

Post by handsofstone »

I was hoping the Abner Mares/Jhonny Gonzalez WBC Featherweight bout would have been on B/Nation as they have a lot of last minute announcements, but it doesnt look like it,gutted as the Victor Terrazes/Leo Santa Cruz WBC Super Featherweight fights is on the undercard :verysad:

Not on TV I'm afraid. allegedly made the following statement when pushed by fans on Twitter:

"We'd love to, but we're not able to deliver every fight made available to us - This weekend we're concentrating on Europe."

Even if they couldn't have shown Mares / Gonzalez live, they could have shown it tomorrow night instead.

I've said it before, I'll say it again:

I love you, Jhonny G.

That is all.

PS: there was a thread on here the other day opining that proper leverage-induced bodyweight punchers don't exist any more, & the top hitters nowadays are all brutishly strong heavy-handed so & sos such as Golovkin & Kovalev... Watch Jhonny get the leverage over on that left hook & tell me that again with a straight face. In fact, watch any of his other one-punch destructions (the right hand that flattened Hasegawa was particularly sweet, like an Exocet missile).

Tall vulnerable gangly coat-hanger-shouldered big hitters for the win!

WHAT a left hook - I'll have to remember now, J Gonzalez is a really serious puncher. I'd almost forgotten his amazing knock out of the warrior champ from Japan.

Saw an interview with Abner after and the guy is class ( brave too, telling the ref he was ok ) as is Johnny, rushing over to console his old gym mate. Classy touch
