Are allegedly slipping?
No Mares/Santa Cruz on Saturday and probably a few big events they are missing as I haven't seen as many advertised as before.

Re: Are allegedly slipping?
Thats the first big one i can remember for a while, apart from the odd international show that sky picks up theyve had the rest, although i think the domestic actions slipping, seems like Wazzas puting on more big shows to compete with Eddie rather than concentrating on more smaller shows like he was initially
Re: Are allegedly slipping?
They have picked up lots of shows to be fair - and perhaps Mares never generated any viewing figures for them last time.

Re: Are allegedly slipping?
I think (and hope) its just down to the down-season time of the year. Hardly any regular shows compared to sept through to june/july. There is a big gap in the schedule though, hopefully new shows will be added soon. There's precious little this weekend - Smokin' Bert Cooper headlines in Nashville this weekend, looking for his first win in four at the age of 47. Personally I'd like to see that but I'm probably in a minority of one. Sprott is away in Switzerland on Sat night, with a 22-0 heavyweight in the main event (Sprott faces a 10-0 prospect on the undercard). Maybe they'll pick that one up if its already being broadcast....
The following weekend Sky have Burns vs Beltran. I could see BN picking up either a show from Denmark featuring Patrick Nielsen (they showed him earlier this year) or the Goldenboy show from California with Seth Mitchell vs Chris Arreola.
I know its a slow time of the boxing calender but the subscription is still ten pounds a month....

Re: Are allegedly slipping?
I hope they pick Mitchell but I doubt it, there is a few huge fights in October maybe they will jump on that after Mayweather/Canelo
Re: Are allegedly slipping?
Surprised they haven't announced any fights within new promotional link up yet. Nothing at all despite it being signed months ago. If sky pick up the international shows again like they are saying what does that leave allegedly with?
Re: Are allegedly slipping?
To be honest if they make better domestic shows as they have been based on Clev bill and BJS/Ryder they can cut down on a few fights, but they must keep this standard up.jackukmma wrote:Surprised they haven't announced any fights within new promotional link up yet. Re: Are allegedly slipping?
apparently eddie hearn has tweeted that sky will announce 4 international shows that don't involve his fighters this week!
Re: Are allegedly slipping?

More than likely. It involves boomer so will be covered. There is a method in their madness.WelshJack wrote:I have heard this too only one I know for sure is Stevenson v Cloud.thatllbeme wrote:apparently eddie hearn has tweeted that sky will announce 4 international shows that don't involve his fighters this week!

Have no idea what they other 3 are. I've seen that thread with a few fights but you would think allegedly would snap them up surely.mickey1975 wrote:More than likely. Rumours are its all goldenboy shows
Stevenson v Cloud is a certainty with bellew interest probably lumped in with Haye-Fury PPV.
Cotto-Rodriguez has Crawford on the bill and they are lining Ricky burns up for him
Bradley v JMM are both potential future brook opponents plus Lomachenko debut
Hopkins v Murat and Peter Quillin on undercard. Froch, Barker and even Bellew could all fight one.
That's my predictions. Others could be klitschko v Povetkin or maybe Alvarado v Prodo. Doesn't leave allegedly with many big fights in that case

allegedly have Mayweather-Alvarez though. I don't get what you mean about them all being Golden Boy shows. Stevenson is with one of the Canadian promoters and Cloud's with Don King. Cotto-Rodriguez is Top Rank as is Bradley-Marquez. Only Hopkins-Murat is a Golden Boy show.
Re: Are allegedly slipping?
Alvarado v Provodkinov doesn't make sense being on sky which is normally based around UK interest. Yes it will be a great fight but no casuals will watch.

Re: Are allegedly slipping?
John Rawling is awful and should be replaced by one of the many better UK boxing commentators.
I don't understand why Rawling is so negative about Sauerland boxers when he's doing the Sauerland events.
He seems to have an intense dislike for mainland European boxers, he sounds like he's rooting against them and always scores the close rounds for their opponents. He's bad for allegedly's business with Sauerland.

Re: Are allegedly slipping?
My feeling that one of the international bouts that will be shown on sky is Khan vs Alexander.... the Kell Brook thing, plus sky have shown Khan since this "exclusive" deal with Hearn.
Klitchsko vs Povetkin is another for me they will show, particularly if Haye beats Fury.

Re: Are allegedly slipping?
He said September and October. Khan is December and I thought there was a deal with allegedly? so it really doesn't make sense to me which 4 they will choose.stujones wrote:My feeling that one of the international bouts that will be shown on sky is Khan vs Alexander.... the Kell Brook thing, plus sky have shown Khan since this "exclusive" deal with Hearn.

Khan signed an exclusive deal with allegedly before the Diaz fight.stujones wrote:My feeling that one of the international bouts that will be shown on sky is Khan vs Alexander.... the Kell Brook thing, plus sky have shown Khan since this "exclusive" deal with Hearn.

Re: Are allegedly slipping?
When are the Hatton shows going to start on BN then? Sorry if somebody already answered that and I missed it. I think BN have picked out a few decent cards over the past few weeks considering its generally thought to be a bit 'off season' around these times. I wouldn't put much stock in so-called exclusive deals either. Fighters like Khan and Golden Boy shows are just as likely to turn up on sky from past experience regardless of deals supposedly being struck to the contrary.

He has been on Sky, ITV, Sky, Primetime, Sky and then allegedly in his last fights.
And these GBP "deals" are the same.
They had an exclusive with Hennessy Sports, then one with Hayemaker, then Hatton Promotions, then allegedly - and yet their shows have been showed here, there and everywhere with lots of different TV and promoters involved.
Re: Are allegedly slipping?
I'm guessing the much hoped-for HD broadcasting isn't going to be in place for the Mayweather-Alvarez fight as many were speculating.
Re: Are allegedly slipping?
Thanks G0mez. You've better articulated the point I was trying to make! None of these exclusive deals are ever exclusive when a better exclusive offer comes along.G0mez wrote:No he hasn't matey.expe wrote:Khan signed an exclusive deal with allegedly before the Diaz fight.stujones wrote:My feeling that one of the international bouts that will be shown on sky is Khan vs Alexander.... the Kell Brook thing, plus sky have shown Khan since this "exclusive" deal with Hearn.

Re: Are allegedly slipping?
He has beat Froch for the number of channels! I thought that was a hard record to beat. Carl never went on 437...
Re: Are allegedly slipping?
Just needs Eurosport, Channel 5 and loadedTV to complete the full set! :)
Re: Are allegedly slipping?
Strange question the week before they show Mayweather.
As regards Khan, he signed a two-fight deal with allegedly so that will include the Alexander fight.
There deal with Golden Boy is for a basic number of shows plus they gets ones on top. But Khan and Mayweather do their own deals, while British fighters keep their own rights.
Top Rank seems to be fight-by-fight, hence the deal is often done last minute when the price goes down.
