Mustafa Hamsho vs Frank the "Animal" Fletcher 160l

Post by zuru »

Who would win this battle of barbaric southpaws? Both lacked defense, bled, and came to wage war.It was if they became angry if the fellow they were fighting "missed" a punch.I would say Hamsho had a better chin, though Fletcher had a solid one also. This is a pay-per-view fight that would definitely be worth the cost. These 2 would fly towards each other as if they were human magnets, intent on clubbing the other unconcious.Fletcher did suffer the "VIOLENT" K.O. at the hands of Juan Roldan, but Hamsho doesn't have power anywhere near that of Roldan,so this fight would probably go the distance,Unless it was stopped on cuts.I don't know who would win,but I know that I sure would have liked to seen it.

You're right, this would have been a bloody slugfest.I'm going to go with Hamsho on this one, provided he doesn't get disq.for some of his famous tactics,

I'd go for Fletcher to win this in what would be an amazing war. Fletcher at his best was more intense and had the better power and I can see him just edging Hamsho out and winning either a close decision or on a late stoppage due to cuts. This one would have em in stitches as they say!...   8) :box:

It could go either way, but I'm taking Fletcher on a split decision by the closest of margins.

Yeah, some people think of Fletcher as the guy that lost to Mugubi and Roldan but I think he was burnt out by the time he had those fights and had lost the remarkable intensity and resistance that had taken him through some spectacular wars. The Fletcher who beat Braxton and Singletary would have had too much for Hamsho imo.

Toss up, I would be for Fletcher out of the two. By far the more exiting fighter. Hamsho was more hit and hold. It seemed like he won most of his fights by bringing his opponents leavel of skill down a notch or two. Never one of my favorite fighters. I remember I was happy to see him get knocked out by Hagler.

What a fight. Not for the squeamish.

Fletcher by decision. But Hamsho could have discouraged and out-roughed him.

Are we assuming a 10 round fight?
