Barnes, Conlon and Nevin are all up one weight for Ireland's team for the French four nations-interesting especially if Nevin goes to 60 for the Worlds with Lomochenko gone?

I think they had a qualifying tournament and the guys who won made the Team. Cam F Awesome and Kenneth Simms should do well and Leroy Davila

Your comment makes sense to me USA judges have always gave fights to their favorite fighters even when they lose that is one reason USA has been doing crapy the last few Olympics. They don't send the best what do we expect no top medals? This group above I don't know anything about them but I believe your comment because I have been to tournaments and seen scoring only because that certain fighter is their choice to make Olympic team. Let see what happens to our team in internationals with the new scoring system.

You're talking out of your butt again. Bad decisions happen in boxing but I can tell you when it happens, it is not political like you think, at least on the national level in the US. I can say that because I was a R/J for close to 30 years making to the highest levels in the US and AIBA including working the '08 Olympics. Never once has anybody ever said to me at a national championship or Olympic trials, we want so and so to win. Never! On the international level, it is a different story and cheating happens but what you are saying about the US is BS. You have never been an official so how would you know?

Jmac 30 years of walking blind to your friends is ok everyone else or most do it. I never been an official but i have seen enough to make my mind up. there have been a few i saw get wins they didn't deserve. I have seen head of officials tell off a judge over his not scoring like it should be. I also heard one official telling another official you take care of my son and i'll take care of yours. By the way her son was dropped three times in two rds and still won. I attend alot of tournaments and shows around the country so i may not be an expert after close to 500 amateur fights i have seen in my life time.
I have seen referees not appointed for certain matches because his style may not help a certain fighter.
But i will be honest it is what it is until things change for the better but that has been in the works since ths 50's

Name one national tournament you seen this happened. Something like what you said may have happened in your local area but in all of my years, I have never seen anything like that on the national level.
So instead of complaining about it, do something about and be part of the solution and become an official!!!

Jmac I never said local level which is another story i dont want to go there.
i couldn't be an official everyone would hate me as i have seen in a few local LBC"S how the wheel that squeeks is slowly a loner.
Now that i have your interest what do you thiink of the new 10 point system.
i personaly show a couple of shows where both fighers fought as close as possible to a draw in my opinion but in all those fights the scores were 30-24 as were some scores where one fighter dominated his opponant and also got scores of 30-24. were these judges wrong or is that how you score every fight 10 to winner 8 to loser? It didn't make sense to me because if you lose the first rd the fight is over in a three rounder. These shows were in different states but results seem simular.
just for your info i dont follow any particular team but when i travel and if i findout there is an amateur show and if i have time i go see them. California seems to be the hot bed of amateur shows in my travels.

To me the 10 point must system is no different than when we had the 20 point must system before the computer scoring came into effect. It is not easy to loose the 1st two rounds and come back and win in the 3rd but I've seen it happen. Under 10 pts, it is supposed to be 10-9...close round, 10-8.......clear winner, 10-7...total dominance, 10-6...overmatched. Under the former computer scoring, on the international level, the boxer who won the 1st round almost always won the fight especially under open scoring, the boxer who stayed away from their opponent and ran in the last round almost never lost. In boxing, one boxer, his coach and fans are never going to be happy at the results of the officials in every bout. That's just the nature of the game.

That is how i was told the scoring was to be but of two of the shows i seen they anounced the scores of every fight 30-24 which didn't match three of the fights i saw. at the other show they didn't anounce the scores only the winner which i think is better instead of anouncing scores. By the way this year Ringside World used the clickers instead of new system i heard it was because most of the judges still didn't have the training of the new system.

This is true. It will take some time to get all officials trained.
