There's a fighter out there with the name "kick asner"? What a funny name. Any relation to Ed Asner?kick asner wrote:Actually their is an obscure club fighter who I share the same last name with. I have a very uncommon last name so that is the only other time I had ran across it. Can't really say who it is however since I don't give my name out on a disscussion board.

My user name is a homage to a fighter who shared my surname.
No, not Norris as many will think, but I am referring to 'The Brooklyn Terror' Terrible Terry McGovern.
He was a dynamite fisted Bantam and Featherweight champ near start of the 1900s. Nat Fleicher rated him as one of the true greatest of all time and he had a legendary temper, which was to be his down fall against Young James Corbett.
He at one time held the record for the fastest world title KO of all time and must rank alongside Bazzoka Gomez, Jimmy Wilde and Humberto Gonzalez as one of the hardest hitting little men ever to lace em up.

I always thought it was homage to Tim Witherspoon for some reason.TerribleTerry wrote:My user name is a homage to a fighter who shared my surname.

You didn't mention Wilfredo Riveira. A friend says that sounds like a pasta dish - "Have you tried the Wilfredo Riveira? It's a chef's specialty".borinken25 wrote:Very proud of my name Wilfredo. The Great Wilfredo Gomez, Wilfredo Benitez and Wilfredo Vazquez and a close one El salsero Alfredo Escalera. I have two daugthers but if the boy comes he is also going to be name Wilfredo.
