Groves Vs GGG?

Post by Tom Ford »

Who wins in this battle of the big hitters?

Personally I think Groves is a big SM and woulld get to GGG before GGG got to him.

Thoughts?

I think Golovkin would knock Groves out for what it's worth. Groves is a good fighter with a good dig but his chin isnt the most solid whereas Golovkin has never touched the canvas to my knowledge and that includes his 300 + amateur bouts.

GGG by knockout as well for me. Groves' defence can be quite leaky and he has a problem with cuts with you and has already been dropped in his pro career by Kenny Anderson. If he gets dropped at domestic level then there is always going to be that chance he is going get dropped as you climb up the levels.

Would be an interesting fight.

I wonder what Groves will do after losing to Froch ?

GGG is looking good, but beating a Macklin is not the same as beating a naturally much larger man in GG.

GG vs GGG!

If Groves had to come down to 160, I don't think it would be close. If GGG was moving up, however, this would be a good fight.

I think people are getting carried away with Groves.
He is a talented fighter and has a good team but its by no means a given he will overcome Froch.
Or even handle his pressure at all.
He is untested at a level below Froch.
Groves is not Ward and if that's their blue print it will make for a shit fight.
I think George may start off on the move but with the crowd on his back and Froch to his front he will get dragged in.
Does he have the power to KO Carl?
Possibly but i doubt it his chin is never in question.
As for Golovkin at this stage I cannot see anything but a KO win for GGG.

Forum bet on it Tom ?

Do you have paypal ? I wager £1,000 on Froch to your £500 on Groves ?

We can paypal it to a trusted mod on this site. Whom will issue it to me after about 3 minutes of the first bell ringing.

I think Groves has balls as big as anyone, I just forecast him taking this fight too soon. Barakat, Balmaceda etc aren't really prepping him. I think if it was Nov 2014 and a Froch farewell fight, then I'd be a lot more positive about George's chances.

If he is victorious I will be the first to congratulate him - and let's be honest, he wont have a better chance of beating Froch than he will have right now.

The GQ awards, the Dancing show and everything - plus you get the suspicion that he thinks Groves simply isn't good enough to hang with him.

Groves is in for a sustained beating by Froch. He will be ground down, battered and kippered by the 10th round.

Gomez,

Give me 7/2 and we have a deal!
Why bet with you when the bookies are going better odds for a Groves win?

My £500.00 with you =£1K but with the bookies is worth a lot more.

Some people just want to believe in the underdog.

The reality is this won't be a particularly hard night for Froch.

As to the topic - GGG would KO groves.

I like GG a lot, but he is no match for these 2 elite operators. Not yet anyway.

I don't bet for the money, I bet for fun.

So what you say, shall we give the money to a moderator who can be trusted ?

I tell you what, I will give your £500 to Marie Curie if I win.

Obviously if you dont want to, then that's cool mate. We can simply bet for bragging rights.

He may not see £1000 as a lot of money, he might wipe his arse on fivers.

I have someone to wipe my arse - and they use £50's.

You don't know what grubby hands have been on a lowly fiver.

S'only money. Silly bits of coloured paper.

GGG tears GG a new one at middleweight. At SMW a little harder to call but you'd have to side with him again.

I think Froch comes too early for Groves and could set him back a bit if he takes a sustained drubbing

No bets! :TU:

But look at the size of Groves ( Lt Heavy soon I think) and GGG.

GGG could make 11st and George is on his way to 12st 7lbs.

War GG!
