Well, it's the news you've all been waiting for. Chris Eubank Jr's opponent has been announced.

As a boxing expert, I have absolutely no idea who he is. But he's undefeated in 11 fights. His knockout ratio aint up to much, mind. He's only knocked out three.

Still, it's not like Eubank is known as a KO artist. Might be a good 'un this.

Oh, and he's from the Czech Republic.

Horvath was due to face Blackwell on the 27th on here up until friday so he has had decent notice as that was set over a month/6 weeks ago and even last week said that it was still on a week after Blackwell fighting Burzak for the ebu I assume they have now decided otherwise.

Be good to see Eubank active again and also against someone with decent notice so we can get a better idea of his level

My problem is no so much the opponent, it's Eubank's inactivity. (I know it's not his fault.)

After Eubank Jr fought twice last December, he should've fought twice again by the end of April, then by June or July started fighting guys the standard of Horvath. This is a small step up for Eubank in his 11th fight, at least the guy will be defending an unbeaten record. He isn't going to turn up to lose.

But it seems pointless if he fights a guy like this, then takes six months off again.

I would have assumed that SNR would have written some clauses into the contract with Big Mick that ould hav left room for a move due to inactivity but it seems not ....?

I like Eubank jr for his theatrics and his dad but I am concerned about his lack of a knockout punch. His inactivity is not his fault as he always seems ready and willing to fight going on what he says in his interviews.

Yes, that's been my main gripe with Eubank. No knockout power. (I notice his opponent has only got three knockouts in 11 wins also. That's not a coincidence.)

I reckon this could be a good fight. Obviously Horvath has come in because Eubank's team are confident he'll lose. But they have similar looking records, though the case will be made for CE Jr. fighting better opponents. So he's favourite.

I think this could be worth watching, to be honest.

I think so hes small for the weight fairly easy to hit and not the quickest

Hes unbeaten so you never know but my opinion is eubank too big too good

Regarding Eubank i am surprised that he aint on the Fury-Haye bill. You never know he might be a late add on.

I saw a while back that Eubank had made a comment that he was fighting in September, and I had assumed it was on the Haye / Fury undercard.

I guess that if Mick is promoting a card a couple of weeks earlier, he may well feel he might as well have Eubank on that card rather than adding anybody else to the Hearn card that he doesn't have to. Especially when there are already rumours that Eubank wants to change promoters.

Personally, I hope he does get added to the Hearn card as well. Horvath will only be his second fight of 2013, and that's not enough. Even if he fights some 0-37 guy, who has never been past round 2, at least it's keeping him in the ring. And gets him some experience at a slightly bigger venue than what he is used to.

I don't think Mick will go for it though.

It did strike me earlier that Eubank Jr. is at that stage in his career where he needs to set up a bit. Fighting 10 or 11 journeymen is fine at the start of your career, whilst you're still learning your trade, but after that you need to step up a bit.

I wondered if Hennessy would eventually try and build a small hall show around Eubank the younger. What with Fury's next fight on Sky and DeGale's promotional future uncertain, there might not be many Channel 5 undercards for Eubank to fight on. It might be the only way to keep Eubank Jr. active for the next few months. Win or lose, it's hard to see Galahad fighting again in 2013. There could well be no other bills for CEJ to fight on the undercard of.

It looks instead that he's moving him to British level. Hopefully he wins the purse bids, and it gets on Channel 5. I'm not sure CEJ is ready for that level, as he's only fought 8-rounders. But we won't know until he tries. I'd rather seem him move up to that level than fight some Ukranian who is 2-38-1 and Channel 5 act like it's some awesome fight.

Also his camp are saying that its for the WBA Continental? title (not sure if its both?) I would imagine that the contest "to take place by the end of December 2013" could still happen in December but the noise was that Eubank (or Mick) didnt want the job

Id like to see that. I dont rate myself. His boxing ability is very limited and on top of that he cant punch.
