3-2 Esquivias. He was dominant in the 5th. Marquez is gonna have to start doing something different, Esquivias is just getting more and more effective.

4-2 Esquivias. Even if he's able to pull this one out somehow, Rafa probably needs to seriously consider calling it a career after this one. He'd get destroyed by any of the Top guys at Featherweight at this point.

His reflexes and speed have reduced dramatically from his peak.

Marquez probably stole the 7th with that rally at the end... not sure he "won" it though.

5-2 Esquivias. Hopefully Marquez can keep his little surge going into the next round, he needs it bad.

5-3 Esquivias

Gave Marquez the 7th... thought that rally was pretty big (at the time).. seemed to have his man reeling, but he totally blew the 8th.

6-2 Esquivias. I believe we saw Rafael's last hurrah at the end of the 7th and start of the 8th. Esquivias withstood the barrage and went right back to beating Marquez up.

Rafa, please retire. Esquivias isn't even a big puncher. Sad fight.

I'm a huge Marquez fan, but when he went down I was hoping they'd stop the fight. He didn't have anything left to pull it out, and I didn't want to see him take another 2 whole rounds of unnecessary punishment.

Thanks for the memories Rafael!

No doubt. Sad to see him lose so one-sidedly to a guy like this. It's over for him.

I hope he gets it. I had to watch him beat up one of my favorite fighters, I want to see him get his ass whipped next time damn it

All credit to Esquivias though, he did what he had to do, and he showed Marquez a lot of respect after the bout. Well deserved respect I might add. That's just the way it goes. All great champions eventually lose to Father Time.
