Re: burns got lucky.......DRAW
Barry Hearn says he'll get a rematch when Ricky's jaw has healed
Re: burns got lucky.......DRAW
To get a score of 115-112 you'd need to give it 8-4 in rounds to Burns. That is a complete travesty. No way did he win 8 rounds! At a push you could argue 6-6, but even then with the knockdown Beltran wins it 114-113. For me it was 115-112 Beltran (7-5 in rounds), it was a close but clear decision win, no other result fair or just in my mind.forcefraser wrote:If he won the fight it should not matter whether it was home, away or on another planet. If I had scores that way that's the scorecard I would have got.. But instead I had Beltran by 1.. Did Beltran deserve to win YES!!! Did he do enough away from home probably not
Either way, I think we're nearing the end of the road of Burns' title run. Likelihood is he's going to have to travel to the US to fight Crawford (Eddie won't be able to compete with HBO money), and I don't give him a realistic chance of victory in that fight, to be honest.

I had it 114-114 with the 5th even, a draw was just about fair, but Burns didn't deserve to win the fight.Jack B wrote:To get a score of 115-112 you'd need to give it 8-4 in rounds to Burns. I had it 115-112 for Raymundo Beltran, fair play to Ricky Burns for toughing it out and seeing it to the final bell with a broken jaw
But the fact of the matter is Beltran clearly won that fight,CLEARLY,as much as i love Burns and as much as it pains me to say it he should not still be WBO Lightweight champion this morning,he knows it,his team knows it,Beltran knows it and most importantly the fans know it
These decisions are slowly killing boxing, especially when you get a lot of the casual fans who would have been watching last night bitching how boxings corrupt, how can we argue, its embarrissing and the 2 judges who never had Raymundo winning are actually harming Ricky rather than helping him because Rickys starting to change from one of the most liked boxers around to one of the most resented, whether it be his opposition and now his "gifts"
Who are we kidding, nothing will happen though,Germans have every right to slaughter our so-called fair judging
The referee needs to take a good long look at himself as well,Burns could have been disqualified for his excessive holding
Anything less than an immediate rematch is unnacceptable
