Is Roman Greenberg's Carrer going anywher

Post by josh fg »

He seems to be fighting a string of fighters at about the same level without really taking any sereouse fights he seems to be fighting in a lot of differnt places like Monticarlo New York and Vagas, he is now 20-0 and the most sereouse person on his record is ether Juliouse Frances or Josh Gutcher who has amassed a 17-4 record by fighting sub standard opponents.

He is on the Hatton undercard but it seems to me that there hasn't been any kind of strategic thinking of how they want to develop him as a profesional both in terms of rankings and expereance from challenging fighters.

Anyone know anything from his teams ideas or any speculation, or is he just building a nice record waighting for a big pay day against a top up and comming which he will loose (a la Rob Calloway)?

Thoughts pleas:

After his last fight, there was talk from his camp along the lines of "oh yes, we're going to step it up now..."

Don't see it happening to be honest, certainly not going to see him against a good opponent on the Hatton card IMO. I reckon he's a Faruq Saleem or Kandelaki in the making.[/quote]

I can't see him going anywhere particularly special, what was it they said on their website? "Potentially the first Billion dollar Heavyweight"

He should fight the winner of the Gammer/McDermott fight, we need to sort through our own domestic heavys as there seems to be a few just fighting bums lately!

He has not impressed me at all.

Been dropped and hurt before - by eastern european journeymen.

Doesnt seem to have the greatest amount of power - be it one punch or combination power.

Only 7 of his 20 wins have plus records and the ones that have arent that much cop either.

Actually thought Sacko deserved a draw in the last fight.

I wouldnt pick him to beat Michael Sprott- when Sprotty has the bit between his teeth hes a tough fighter to beat.

Not impressed, never seen the fuss. Far too mechanical for my liking with little power.

Dimentrenko looks to be a much better prospect, and I have to say Potevekin impressed me on the Valuev vs Donald bill (first time I have been impressed with him amateur or pro so far).

I thought Greenberg looked impressive early doors but I'd actually forgotten about him.

Either terribly managed or they know something we don't (or we suspect).

Don't think he will amount to much.

He's heading nowhere fast, despite his age. He's fairly well rounded, I just don't think he does anything particularly outstanding.

Looks like Skelton is now fighting McDermott and Gammer is up against another tough foe in TBA....

The only thing about him is because he is quite marketable being Israeli and having the British and american market.
