Joe Frazier had Kenny winning that fight by 1 round. What was up with that?

Don't see Kenny stopping Muhammad, but he would've outfought him by UD.This fight should've happened intstead of the Spinks I fight. Then Kenny would've lost to Larry Holmes, and Larry would've been an undisputed champion for at least awhile.

Yeah Ken would've beat him by UD this time, he wouldn't have stopped him.

After long negotiations whereby Ali is guaranteed 100% of the receipts (win lose or draw) the rematch is made,

Kenny KO's Ali in the first round, but inexplicably the referee asks Kenny to go to a neutral corner and begins the count...however...he is counting over a confused Kenny Norton..... the ref then walks over and raises Ali's hand while helping him up from the deck. The crowd agrees and supports the referee and Ali.

The ref explains to the world that Ali's fall was due to a blatant low blow and he felt he had no other option under the circumstances.

It is a very popular decision to the local Louisville crowd at Freedom Hall. Don King is there to help Ali to his corner, and they leave together to plan out the next defense of the title.

As Always Don arrives with the Champion and leaves with the Champion.

Rod Serling who was thought to be dead, was in the first row, and uses this match as his inspiration for "Requiem for a Heavyweight II".

Kenny Norton signs to face #1 Ranked - Jimmy Young for his '4th Title Defense'.

Muhammad Ali, unable to get a 'rematch with Kenny Norton or Duane Bobick, tells the
world he will face the 'best boxer' in Europe - Lorenzo Zanon in Italy on February 15, 1978.

While in Italy training for his February 1978 bout, Muhammad Ali is embarrassed by his sparring
partner, 'unknown' Larry Holmes.

Muhammad blames this on the weather, stating he's not used to the Mediterranean Breeze.
The unknown Larry Holmes who had left Ali's camp in 75? And I thought in that time scale that Rudi Gauwe was Europe's best boxer?

I know this is all hypothetical, but Norton knocking out Ali? :o :oo

Norton fought him 3 times & even broke his jaw once, but never came close to knocking him out.

I know Ali was a dead man walking in '77 too, but as evidenced by his fight with Shavers, he still had the chin & the heart to withstand mighty wallops & fight on.

I just can't ever see Ken Norton KOing Ali.

Il Duce wrote:Set for January 1977, at San Diego Stadium.

A '4th' bout between Muhammad Ali and Ken Norton.

Just '120-Days' after Muhammad Ali scored an undeserved 15-Round Decision over Kenny Norton at
Yankee Stadium.

The 35 year-old Muhammad Ali had little left, and was doing everything possible to avoid this bout,
even claiming that his life ambition is 'not' to face Kenny Norton in every fight.

Kenny Norton, at 33 1/2 years old was still in very good condition, and had defeated Muhammad Ali
on September 30, 1976 in everybody eye's, except for 'Three Blind Mice' who exposed themselves as
'inept' Scoring Officials.

With this bout held in California, Muhammad Ali would not be able to have the 'edge' with the Scoring
Officials, and his typical late Round '15-Second' flurries to steal an undeserved Round would have little
impact with proper Scoring Judges.

The Fight,

There was none, as #1 Challenger Kenny Norton overwhelmed Champion - Muhammad Ali at the
out-set, just moments after the of the opening bell.

Kenny came out with both fists blazing, and stunned Muhammad less than 1-Minute into the
bout. As Muhammad backed up to the ropes, Kenny swarmed over a stunned Champion, and let go
with a barrage of punches.

Though Muhammad Ali was able to make it through Round 1 on his feet, he was battered and had his
left-eye nearly closed from a Norton right-hand.

Rounds 2 and 3 followed the same pattern, as Kenny pushed Muhammad backwards into the ropes,
and fired away without fear of retaliation from the Champion.

In Round 4, Kenny laid back early, and just jabbed away while measuring Muhammad for a right-hand
over the top. Muhammad tried to make a go of it, but was suckered in, and Kenny catches him with a wicked
right-hand to the jaw, dropping Muhammad to his knee's.

Muhammad is badly hurt, and struggles to get himself upright at the 6-Count. While up, Muhammad wobbles
side-ways on unsteady pins.

As Kenny moves in, Muhammad falls back into the Ropes, and is leaning over the Top Strand as Kenny drops
in a barrage of smashing right-hands into his face.

Referee - John Thomas jumps in and halts the bout at 1:52 of Round 4.

Actually, Muhammad Ali lost that bout in the eyes of all, except for '3' certified morons.

Kenny Norton was the 'True Champion' entering this 4th-Bout with Muhammad Ali, and this
was Kenny's first title defense.

Thats more bullshit too. I dont doubt that Ali didnt write all of his poems but Ive seen him on live TV hit with the request to make up a poem about something on the spot and he did it. Just one more attempt to whittle the man down.

Il Duce's campaign against Muhammad Ali is pretty sad. He brought it over from the Eastside Boxing site.
