Saturday looks sorted

Post by forcefraser »

Can`t wait for Saturday.

The return of the premiership footy after the awful International break.
Over here we get the early game, a choice of the 15.00 games and the late kick off.

Then Channel 5 are showing what I think will be a cracker in Galahad v Jazza Dickens, plus we get to see Hughie Fury against half decent opposition.

Then we have three great fights stateside with Smith v Molina, Matthyse v Garcia and Mayweatehr v Alvarez (plus Theophane v cano might be ok)

Throw into the mix a bunch of decent mates, a curry, a slab of coldies and a long lie in the next day and i am pretty much set for a quality sporting Saturday. Bring it on.

Although the main event is obviously the main attraction, I am looking forward to the Mathhyse v Garcia fight just as much.

Probably the best Saturday of sport for a long time.

New Zealand v SA in the rugby at 8.35am

Australia v Argentina in the rugby at 11am

United v Palace at 12.45pm

St Leger racing all afternoon

Both boxing shows all evening and into the early hours.

Won't be moving from the sofa unless it's to eat or grab a beer.

Had a treble of NZ, Aus and United all to win at 2.15 with sportingbet and a double of Matthysee and Mayweather both to win at 1.9 with Sky bet.

Bring it on!

Let`s get this right, I won`t be moving from the sofa at all. However my poor missus will be kept busy fetching beers for the boys and cooking a mentally hot curry.

I'm up at Craven Cottage on Saturday, watching Fulham play West Brom. (For my sins.)

I plan to get home, crack open a beer and watch the fights m'self. :salut: Going to enjoy this one. The nice gentleman who brings me pizzas might come round as well.

Wish I was doing all these things. I have my son every weekend, and while I wouldn't change that for the world, he's not in the habit of letting me watch TV all day and his usual 6am rise on a Sunday would mean no sleep whatsoever Saturday night. So I'll be lucky to get to watch the United v Palace game and then a re-run of the boxing Sunday morning before footy.

Might want to position a bucket near the sofa for pissing then :D

Hadn't realised about the boxing on Channel 5 got to say well happy with that. Nice home game v Derby in the afternoon, back home to watch the boxing on channel 5. Gutted that I won't be able to see Mayweather though as moving into the new place tomorrow so won't have internet or sky etc (for many months if my wallet has anything to say about it). I have now decided to grace work with my presence on Monday purely so I can watch the boxing on the computer at work

As long as you don`t check the result, a re-run on sunday morning is not a bad option.

The no sleep edge is a killer. I did it back when De La Hoya fought Mayweather when my missus was away with work for the weekend.

Just as the fight had finished I heard both my daughters waking up screaming (aged about 1 and 2 1/2 at that time) I spent a horrible few hours trying to keep them entertained before I finally gave in and called the in laws, citing an upset stomach and migraine as a reason why they needed to come and pick up the kids.

I felt guilty for about 5 minutes before retiring to bed and sleeping til past 2 pm. Fresh as a daisy after that. Think I even managed to knock one out at some point as an added bonus.

I'm having to settle for the Sunday morning option - family commitments and the like.

I have a well worn process for overnight fights though and the wife is fully aligned, so she will be shipped out with the kids and I will spend the morning in complete radio silence until I have caught up. If I can get a bacon sarnie cooked for me before she leaves, I'll consider it a success.

I'll set the alarm for 5, see how i get on. I've done a few lock ins down the pub for these as everyone else has, and for me to be honest by the time 5am rolls round everyones f'd and ready to turn in, all the excitement of the fight was wore out ages ago. Then the chilly yomp home, getting passed by the newspaper delivery van, in his proper winter gear, as you plough on down the road in your fred perry hands in pockets with your teeth chattering focused on getting into bed and kidding yourself that you'll only need a few hours and will probably be up and about around 10. Surface about 4, feel alright by about 6, then a few more drinks needed sunday night as you've slept most of the day and getting pissed is your best chance of some kip. You eventually drop off about half 1 then your f'ing alarm blares out at you a few hours later to get up for work. Now with a fresh hangover and some remnants of saturdays antics still in your bloodstream, you spend monday in work jumpy as fornicate downing coffee and thinking next time I'll just tape it and watch it sunday morning.

I'll just drink a couple of lucozades when I feel tired and I'll make it easy, wake up at 2 or 3, I'll be asleep by 1 on Sunday and I'd need to check but I think I'm in college at 9 on Monday so I'll be up again at half 7, then doze through the first lesson or two.

I got a mini-fridge, which I keep by my telly. It can hold up to 8 odd beers. It means you can sit and get through an 8-pack, without having to go to the kitchen.

A few years ago my flatmate at the time had a friend round, who brought her kid with her. Between them, they'd purchased a load of Easter Eggs, as it was around that time of year. We ended up stuffing our faces adn attaching a load of stickers that came with the eggs to my fridge. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but now my fridge is covered in Spongebob Sqaurepants and Dennis The Menace And Gnasher stickers. Looks a bit crappy now. But still.

Still, whilst your poor saps are having to get up to go the kitchen, I got the problem sorted....
