DAVID PRICE vs SETH MITCHELL... NEITHER HAS AN IRON CHIN

Post by stevedoc »

just watched mitchell get done in the 1st he's not a bad attacking fighter but he has little defence and not the best chin and price also good on the attack but his stamina and chin have been found wanting in his last 2 fights .
this would of been the battle of the two unbeaten great heavy weight hopes 18 months ago but now it would be a a nervous fight for both guys ,i'd expect price to get the early ko if he has any confiedence left but mitchell hits hard enough to flatten price to .... :bag: :bag: :bag:

who wins ? and would you like to see the fight or are they both to damaged now ? cheers

Price would win IMO. Whilst Price's chin is suspect, it's not as Mitchell's I dont believe.

To be fair and that's the first time I've really watched Mitchell, those shots were BOMBS and even after the first right that made him wobble, he took several more bombs before going down. Price never took shots like that in either Thompson fight. Anyone would've struggled to survive that

The first shot that hurt him didn't look that big to me; a decent punch, but not one that should've turned him to jelly. The shots that Witherspoon and Banks had him reeling with weren't amazing either, and they aren't big punchers.

It's not just that Mitchell is hurt by these types of punches and opponents, it's that he's badly hurt by them. He definitely has a poor chin in my view.

Mitchell v Banks II looked fishy as hell to me. Banks had Mitchell almost on the floor at one point but just didn't follow through with it after that point right up until the end of the fight.

I think Mitchell would be a good fight choice for Price if he won a comeback against whoever because it would probably get him a decent enough ranking again off the back of it.

Apparently Banks broke both hands in the fight.

Neither has an iron chin, but Price has many more tools and would land first.

I am of the same opinion that David Price would beat Seth Mitchell due to his superior experience in boxing both as an amateur and a professional and that would show against a guy who only turned to boxing because he wrecked his knee. Price would knock Mitchell out somewhere between rounds 4-6

One thing is for sure, you'd not want Arreola anywhere near Price anytime soon ...if you were Price match makers.

i agree mitchell looks like a guy that hasn't been beat up in sparring or even taken full blooded shots before , it's a shame as i like mitchell going forward . it just shows that trying to find a big guy and teaching him to box isn't the way to get real fighters .

I'd take Price.

But I can see him fighting some blob of a journeymen first, just go get his confidence back a bit.

Put Price in with Wilder for a "one dip and end it"

If he takes wilder out, he is back in the big time, if he doesn`t then it`s game over. No point beating up some latvian lumps and then getting done in a low profile fight down the line.

Go out with a bang. If your gonna dream, dream big. BELIEVE!

Great call.

Price would KO Wilder, I believe.

Obviously either could take the other out with one punch ...

BUT Wilder looks soooooo raw/basic it is hard to see Price wouldn't find the opportunity to take Wilder out with his first right.

Great fight for the fans though ... real edge of the seat stuff knowing literally, whoever lands first wins

? Being smashed up by Wilder in one round would do wonders for David's confidence and send him nicely into retirement... Terrible opponent.

His epic Windmilling against Harrison didn't give the impression of a fighter very well schooled

Not sure who would win at this point but Price will look for a few easier fights to get his confidence back.
