He got some unjust criticism on here after the first Brook-Jones fight for shouting at people in his corner. He was actually telling a couple of people to get out of the corner and return to their seats. Since then Brook has stopped Jones and Kid Galahad has become the latest British champion from the Wincobank gym yet there has been no praise on here.

Galahad was in fantastic shape and followed the advice from the corner to step it up after the 8th and soon had Dickens out of there.

yea good shout, told him that the body shots was getting to him and I thought that was spot on, the ingle gym really is something special, not everybodys cup of tea with the style they teach but you just cant argue with the results, champion after champion at all levels, great work

Brown and Johanneson both were trained by the Ingles from before they were champions and had them in their corner when they won the titles. Paul Jones was trained by the Ingles from a child, but people don't seem to class him as one of their world champions

The other 12 fighters listed turned pro with them and won a British title. It's a fantastic record which, with the exception of Curtis, has had the expected bitter response.

Yes, then a tragic thing happened and he came home.

Before his fights he trained at Wincobank 2 days a week. He was guided to a British title which he won and defended twice culminating in a win over Ricky Burns. He had a 100% record with the Ingles. The fight after when he did no training in Sheffield and they weren't in his corner he got knocked out.

Fair enough if you think they should get absolutely zero credit. Take him out of the list - take out Neville Brown who trained solidly at Wincobank for about a year before his Frank Grant victory. It's still a good record. A few European champs, 3 world, or by your criteria 4 as they trained Paul Jones from a child and he turned pro with them.

Sheffield wasn't previously known as a fight city. Outside of Clinton Woods who only trained there briefly as a kid, I can't think of a Sheffield fighter in the last 50 years to get to British level who didn't go through the Wincobank system

Not trying to take anything away from anyone at Wincobank. Truly remarkable what they have done, and continue to do, over the years! Was only trying to give Carl's gym credit! I'm sure he learnt loads there but is a product of Burmantofts!

I was junior aba champion movin up he beat me fair and square the. Boxed him in nabc s I had to box twice he was secound opponent I thought I won easy they give him on a close decision he was classed at the time best thing to come out of Leeds for years he went on to bag all 3 title s in one season school s junior aba s and nabc s he was a great kid always strong mate
