Re: Galahad v Dickens
this should be a great fight i am really looking forward to this one as much as i am looking forward to BJS v Ryder 2 great British fights... Galahad will take it though points close and I have a feeling that Ryder might cause an upset with a KO
think they will be a better fight than Haye v Fury... :)

Re: Galahad v Dickens
I can only see a Galahad win here, ive seen Dickens a few times now, first came across him on that Fighting Scousers programme that was on just before the Olympics last year and having heard a lot of credible people rate him,i was looking forward to seeing him but to be honest although he can clearly fight,i havent seen any performance thats made me relly sit and take notice(yet) but it is clear he is very highly rated by people in the game
Galahad on the other hand does seem to be raising his game every fight and does look special and is a welcome addition to the Super Bantamweight division, typical Ingle fighter, quick, slippery and switch hits, most importantly he looks comfortable doing it,could go far
Galahad wide UD

Anything happen RE:the weight?
Re: Galahad v Dickens
I haven't seen anything where it says he's overweight, but everywhere I've seen he's reported as 8st 11lbs 8oz and that was what was announced at the weigh in, so as far as I'm concerned, he didn't make weight and the title is only on the line for Galahad.DMA1987 wrote:Anything happen RE:the weight?

Buzzing.

Re: Galahad v Dickens
more than ready can not complain about anything very fit, weight just right injury free great camp.going to be an upset
Re: Galahad v Dickens
That was a very good bout and both can be proud, hope both go from strength to strength; I have an issue with the Judges (who were not needed); Galahad is from Sheffield, South Yorkshire and 2 of the 3 Judges (for a British Title fight) were from Doncaster, South Yorkshire, 15 miles away. I've no doubt at all that both Howard and Michael are above board and totally honest in their dealings but the area council or whoever is in charge of such things should have got judges from out of the region, I know petrol is expensive but come on.

Re: Galahad v Dickens
I thought Galahad was in control for most of the fight,it clearly changed in round 7 when Galahad was getting more distance between himself and Jazza.
Think it shows he's not a bad finisher as well.

It was a very good contest.
I'm a Galahad fan, but I felt sorry for Dickens in the end, because of the effort he put in.
PS: Galahad is sounding more like Prince Naseem Hamed by the hour.![[icon_e_surprised.gif] :oo](./images/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif)

I hate to take my mate to the hospital, and turned off like 30 seconds before the knockout.
Hopefully more fights like that get on Channel 5. We don't get many decent small-town British title fights on television any more.

Re: Galahad v Dickens
I thought Galahads dancing as the ref administered the count was pathetic. Personally I look forward to seeing Frampton bash the brash kid up at some point!!
Re: Galahad v Dickens
If that's true he should be brought in front of the Area Council to explain himself.deliverance wrote:I thought Galahads dancing as the ref administered the count was pathetic. Personally I look forward to seeing Frampton bash the brash kid up at some point!!

Re: Galahad v Dickens
Oh FFS will you all give it a rest.
The kid just won the British title - just a bit of over exuberance.
As for the validity of the judges I've heard it all now HE KNOCKED HIM OUT !
No judge save you from that.
Your post is insulting to some of the hardest working local council members who were on duty Saturday night.
Why is it always negative about this side of the Pennines ?
No fuckin moaning here when all the Judges are from Manchester and Liverpool.
Get a life Palooka.
End of rant.

Does seem to be a bit negative in general, definitely more supporters of the liverpool fighters for instance. Ah well fornicate em.Parson Cross wrote:Oh FFS will you all give it a rest.

Did you see the video on IFilm thats got Etches in it (at the Galahad fight)? Looked terrified bless him.
As for Palooka, he makes a reasonable point. Though I expect you to highlight it on every fight it happens mate from now on.
Re: Galahad v Dickens
Super fight. Both gave it everything.
Hopefully Dickens can come again.
Galahad has a more enjoyable style IMO than most of the Ingle-type boxers, much more agressive and prepared to slug it out if needs be. The Kid's certainly staking his claim as major player on the British scene behind Frampton and Quigg.
