Woodhouse looks powerful at lightweight. I fancy him to KO Derry.

Big call, Curtis always comes across well on Boxrec. I think Derry Matthews wins a war on points.

Matthews looked terrible last time out, Woodhouse has been consistantely performing well so the 5/2 on him winning is massive IMO in a very close match up.

Maybe Tommy looked good? And Derry didn't look bad pulling that left hook of the bag.

I'd expect derrys experience and skills to win out but one thing is for sure woodhouse will bring it and put him under pressure.

So looking forward to this.
Even through my rose tinted glasses I see this as a real 50/50 pick em fight.
Knowing both lads doesn't make things easy, plus shed loads of respect for both but my heart desperately wants a Woodhouse win.

I predict a Derry Matthews win.

Though, I like Curtis Woodhouse. Especially since that Twitter troll incident.

I'm putting a tenner on Curtis; Derry didn't look at all comfortable v Coyle last time out and that was a bit of a needle match with Derry training very hard and he was adamant that Tommy was out of his league - it was Coyle who had the best of things and the winning hook came against the run of play. I'd pick Curtis v Coyle and think he is fit enough and disciplined enough to box to a plan, Derry has had a remarkable career and has had more lives than a cat but Woodhouse has far fewer miles on the clock and I think wins a really good bout.

I like Curtis but being realistic he has very few meanfingul wins on his record and he has certainly never beaten anybody in Derrys legaue,

he only knows one way to fight and see him walking on to a big shot from Derry in the early-mid rounds

Let me assure you Curt does not only know one way to fight.
In the early days, yes, but his progress as a pro with no amateur experience and coming into the game late on, is nothing less than remarkable.
He's worked with a few different people now and his time in the Midlands has been great for him - that's another fiver you owe me Jon. :TU:

I Cant deny to win an English Title coming to game late on is a great achivement,

but for me i still havent seen him do anything that makes me think he can beat Derry or that he should be anywhere above English title level , and i dont think he will make the 6th round , if he proves me wrong on saturday i will hold my hands up and admit it but i really cant see it

Derry was messed around no end and backed up by Coyle and was on his way to losing to a man he'd no real respect for (before the bout). Curtis isn't the purest of boxers but doesn't walk in hands down, chin up. If anything, Woodhouse is improving while Derry looks to be fading a touch, he has pulled fights out of the bag before with one big shot and may be relying on the punch rather than the skills. I think it'll be fight of the night as both are very proud and keen to do well.

i think derry matthews has to punch whilst moving just trying to walk tommy coyle down didnt work he never got a punch off all night exept the left hook that got him out of jail if woodhouse gets his punches of first it could be a good night for woodhouse but never write off matthews

I fancy Woodhouse to come away with the win , just think its came at the right time for him against Mathews who was so close to getting stopped from Coyle last time out Curtis stoppage round 6 for me

Woodhouse is the naturally bigger guy and I think he'll be too strong in this one. Mid stoppage.

Just think the wars are catching up with Derry while Woodhouse seems to be improving and that little fresher, plus being big at the weight will help. Woodhouse in six. Will be exciting though, as it inevitably is with Derry.
