Re: Haye v Fury postponed due to injury to haye ???
Lads, some of you are being a bit silly. Look at the cut ffs, he can't be fighting next week for with that. He isn't a prospect, a loss to Fury would probably end his career at this stage, he can't go in with such a handicap in such a big fight for both men. They've just run an interview with him on S.S., he said it was after round 2 of the final spar, he went back to the corner and they noticed it then. Its a naughty cut and not one you'd want to have going into a big fight. He's been cut in fights and won before, but he shouldn't be starting a fight with that kind of wound. To raise the toe again makes you sound like a sun reader rather than someone who actually understands boxing.
Fury is a fighting man, no doubt. But don't be daft enough to think Peter would let him fight if he had that type of cut.

Aden the cut happened 8 days before the fight, not almost 9 days before, nice try though.
I'm impressed with how quick you came up with that. Well done.

bottom line is very unprofessional , to much on the line with groups of people buying tickets and limos ,hotels etc to be sparring like a fool a week before such a big event !JamesH wrote:Lads, some of you are being a bit silly. Regardless of any opponent or change to bill who wants to pay the amount they have done to watch garbage? Another booking fee up the pipe now 25 quid for me. Its all a conspiracy for Eventim to make money.
Well I wont make the mistake for a 3rd time. fornicate Haye! Wont be getting my money any more!

In all seriousness who the hell was even promoting this fight?
Who can we expect an announcement of regarding the rest of the card?

Hopefully Hearn puts Scott Quiggs fight on the Joshua card the week after.
Poor card for an arena IMO Foot v Ekundayo looks like the only decent fight.

What goes around comes around. Fake injuries vs klitschko and Charr, then suffer one when you don't want one. Karma is a biznitch.
Re: Haye v Fury postponed due to injury to haye ???

Hayemaker Boxing regret to inform that David Haye has been forced to postpone his September 28 bout with Tyson Fury due to a deep cut suffered during the final spar of training camp.
The cut above his left eyebrow occurred in round two of sparring on Friday night (September 19) and required six stitches by a plastic surgeon at St. Thomas' hospital. Because of the gravity of the cut, these stitches will now remain in place for five to seven days.
Unfortunately, after being properly assessed, Haye was left with no choice but to postpone his fight with Fury, scheduled for next Saturday night in Manchester. He is currently waiting on further medical assessment to determine the extent of the postponement.
“Gutted isn't even the word,” said a crestfallen Haye. “Mentally, I'm on the floor at the moment. I'm devastated most of all for my loyal fans, my family and my team, as well as Tyson Fury and his team.
“I know injuries and cuts are part and parcel of our sport, but this doesn't change the feeling of disappointment and sadness I'm experiencing right now. To everyone who has bought tickets, booked hotels, and followed this fight since it was announced, there is absolutely nothing I can do except apologise from the very bottom of my heart.
“Even when everything seems to be right on track, sometimes life throws you a curveball. I will somehow have to try and make the best of this horrible situation. But, right now, I'm in bits about what has happened.”

Oh FFS some of you on here.
Mimmy - you think he's got sliced on purpose to avoid Fury ?
Look we're all pissed off but a cut is a cut. Unprofessional to spar 8 days before ? Not in my book.
Shit headgear? - maybe.
No way he gets in the ring with anyone 8 days after that.
I blame George Groves.

Hearn needs to put his money where his mouth is......he said the only way froch v groves was ppv was with a top undercard. Make froch v groves the undercard and haye v fury the main event. Now that's a ppv card.
Re: Haye v Fury postponed due to injury to haye ???
Quart into a pint-pot. Both events are already sold out, depending on who you believe.rio wrote:Hearn needs to put his money where his mouth is......he said the only way froch v groves was ppv was with a top undercard. An injury is unprofessional? Christ on a bike. It is acceptable to be sparring just over a week before the fight, and whatever measures are in place, shit can just happen. I can't believe I'm explaining it, as I know you know this. I can see Booth preparing the sparring, 'right lads, people have bought limos and hotels so I only want to see footwork tonight, get dancing kids'. Come off it.mrpedigree wrote:bottom line is very unprofessional , to much on the line with groups of people buying tickets and limos ,hotels etc to be sparring like a fool a week before such a big event !JamesH wrote:Lads, some of you are being a bit silly. Re: Haye v Fury postponed due to injury to haye ???
Talk fcuking sense, people that are going are more than right to be a little peed off ,If your professional and prepare properly your camp should have at least avoid any type of heavy contact a week before a fight and if you are gonna be wally and spar wouldnt a fullface headgear be in order this close in ? , its at least unprofessional, but with Haye it seems we are used to thisJamesH wrote:

Re: Haye v Fury postponed due to injury to haye ???
I think he had a cut going into the Ruiz fight, but not as bad as this one.
So he has fought with cuts before where possible.
But that's a bad one for 1 week beforehand.

Sparring eight days out before a fight is standard. I've lost money on this but you can't give Haye grief. Some absolute tools on here like.

Head guard won't make much difference when someone follows through with an elbow
