An injury is unprofessional? Christ on a bike. It is acceptable to be sparring just over a week before the fight, and whatever measures are in place, poo can just happen. I can't believe I'm explaining it, as I know you know this. I can see Booth preparing the sparring, 'right lads, people have bought limos and hotels so I only want to see footwork tonight, get dancing kids'. Come off it.

The delay isn't the fault of either man, but I tell you one thing, I know who I think will handle it better

Talk fcuking sense,people that are going are more than right to be a little peed off ,If your professional and prepare properly your camp should have at least avoid any type of heavy contact a week before a fight and if you are gonna be wally and spar wouldnt a fullface headgear be in order this close in ? , its at least unprofessional, but with Haye it seems we are used to this

It's an unfortunate situation all round. I guarantee that no fan has invested more into this than David Haye has though. Don't forget that. Tyson Fury must feel like he's just lost a winning lottery ticket.

Why are you angry at everyone?

You will know that headguards move/slip, following through with a punch will move the guard and the elbow will make contact with the eyebrow. I fail to see what's so difficult to grasp about this?

That's a pretty nasty cut. I imagine the doctors will suggest a month at the earliest to let that heal and top of that, Haye wont be able to spar or anything so I imagine he'll lose some of his sharpness and he'll want more sparring time. Im guessing a two month postponement time. Rougly.

It's likely to be 4-5 weeks at least, maybe longer. The MEN is booked at the end of Oct so that should make it interesting as we get into November, given Froch/Groves is on then, too.

Yeah, that's why I reckon it will be more like two months.

I have never known a cut above the eye brow with full bar /face head gear yet ....go watch him in the training video Haye released http://vimeo.com/74734319 Hayes not even wearing a decent head gear let a long a full bar headguard .

What we are use to, in fact, is anyone domestic fighter who does well gets slated.

I understand people are peed off, I am in the same position myself. I'm consoled by the fact I'm going to the show later

I maintain that stopping sparring one week before a fight is fine, even though I'm personally affected by the withdrawal. It looks like it would have been caused up close by heads, perhaps as Haye worked on his head movement. If he wasn't wearing the headgear you refer to, it may be because it does add weight and Haye/Booth may not feel wearing it replicates fight night as much as it needs to (that would be a view I share). I'm sure they were cautious, but as I said, shit happens. It looks a mistake now, it wouldn't have had the injury not occured and the fight went ahead with Fury catching nothing but fresh air and himself (if your not sure what I mean, just watch the fight when it does go ahead).
