Haye v Fury postponed due to injury to haye ???
Re: Haye v Fury postponed due to injury to haye ???
@JamesMc, Absolutely. The only point I'm making is that when you've got form for suspicious pull-outs, there's little wonder that the conspiracy theory types are going to swarm him.

If he couldn't be arsed with it then why sign up to it? Fans lost money there and they've lost money again here.jamesmcdonnell wrote: I guess it's possible he just couldn't be arsed with Charr, as there wasn't much money on the table and he saw a preferable opportunity, but i doubt very much he's slices his own eye open to get out of a HUGE payday against Fury.

Well said that jamesmcdonnell.jamesmcdonnell wrote:And exactly how many fights has Haye pulled out of previously.ThereByTheGrace wrote:I do agree with this, but David Haye reminds me, and possibly quite a few others of the story of the boy who cried wolf.jamesmcdonnell wrote:From the clip i saw of Haye sparring, it's clear he was going very hard in there with his sparring partners, there's always a chance of an injury when you go to war in the training camp, and that's what happened.
Haye was sparring Deontay wilder, and unbeaten prospect with a big punch - which means he was definitely preparing as well as he could have done. The notion this is deliberate just doesn't stand up to scrutiny. Fury has done nothing so far in his career to suggest he is on the same level as Haye, I'm sure that Haye figured this was going to be a massive payday to take on someone at least one level, and more than likely more than that below him, why on earth would he slice himself open, causing scar tissue for later fights - utter tripe.
He's not to be trusted, he should've stayed retired.
Jesus, give the guy a break- he got cut in sparring, it happens - end of story.
If anything, I find it more telling that Fury and his people are not interested in rescheduling. To me I think it suits them, they can insinuate that Haye did it deliberately, and claim they were ducked, and move on without having to face a man who was rightly favourite to smash Fury to pieces. Fury v Wilder - cobblers, I think we all know that's just a load of bluster - Wilder would be all risk and no reward.

Just saying, he is injured more than most.SNG wrote:Is there something wrong with him withdrawing with that cut?Tom Ford wrote:He pulled out Vs Wald.jamesmcdonnell wrote:I meant BEFORE Fury.
He fought Wlad though didn't he - so it's not like he was running from him.
Charr, don't remember that one.
Fury - legitimate cut.
What are you trying to assert here? I mean, the only one which is really dubious is Charr. I can't see why he would be running from Charr.
Charr.
Fury.
Regardless, he is sick note.

Re: Haye v Fury postponed due to injury to haye ???
I'm not even a particular fan of Haye - i find him a bit irritating at times, and didn't really have much respect for him after the wholly negative performance against Wlad, after the ridiculous pre-fight bluster and braggadocio - but in this instance, he clearly just went a little too hard in sparring, and got unlucky.
It's a real shame this fight didn't happen, because I think we would have seen a right tear up after a quiet first couple of rounds, i doubt Fury could have boxed to order, and even if he did, Haye would have been able to slip the jab and get inside. Once he got there, Fury would have been forced to trade, and then...well, I think we know what the outcome there would be.
Why doesn't fury want to reschedule, given the huge amount of money on table....?? I can think of only one explanation.

I was answer the "he couldn't be arsed" part.SNG wrote:And how does he stop injuries happening?iamasadlittleboy wrote:If he couldn't be arsed with it then why sign up to it? Can't stop injuries happening, but back to back fights off due to injuries, both called on or around the week of a fight and I think both were at the same arena...interesting amount of coincidence with this and the Charr bout.

So you think the cut didn't happen in sparring, so you think he did what exactly? Cut himself? Why would he do that?iamasadlittleboy wrote: I was answer the "he couldn't be arsed" part.

So did he have a huge great fekking cut over his eye before the Charr bout?
Jesus, let me guess, it was Haye on the grassy knoll that shot JFK.

Yes, answer this, are you really suggesting Haye sliced his own eye open, in order to avoid a multi million pound payday, against someone who has never even contested for a European let alone a World title?
Seriously?

When Povetkin knocks Wlad out, Fury and Haye will both want to fight Alexander.

Funny what you read on other sites. I'm reading Haye was looking very poor on the pads he was not ready. So who did the slicing?

Re: Haye v Fury postponed due to injury to haye ???
I have no argument on the cut, my original reply was in reply to "how many fights has he pulled out of". It's funny that he has had 3 pull outs from 8 bouts, equally interesting is that he also got injured prior to the eventual Wlad fight (the toe) and in the Valuev fight (his hand).SNG wrote:So you think the cut didn't happen in sparring, so you think he did what exactly? Maybe he has a bit of a fragile body...
As far as I'm aware it was put down to a "hand injury"jamesmcdonnell wrote:So did he have a huge great fekking cut over his eye before the Charr bout?

James you think Tyson has saved face whilst escaping a beating but losing big money.
I can't see what else to think, why wouldn't you just reschedule the bout - both men stand to trouser massive paydays, and it's obvious Haye can't fight with a huge cut - it seems very odd that as Fury's manager you would just dismiss it out of hand.
Where else is Fury going to make that kind of money, he sure as hell won't get it fighting either Klit, they will offer him absolute peanuts. Who else is out there that has Haye's marquee value right now - I cannot think of a single heavyweight, - Wilder is exciting, but he's not got much of a fanbase right now.

It's so precise!
And I did not buy the stuff about Haye not knowing it was a cut and even Adam being unsure until he looked closer! Does Haye not bleed?

That the arena seems to get a nice booking fee TWICE from poor fans...NEITHER bout was rescheduled either. Whether you're a Haye fan or not you need to admit that not many people have back to back fights called off for injuries in the same venue inside a year...SNG wrote:So what are you saying? So what? Can you please just say what you're getting at, are you genuinely suggesting he cut himself to get out of the fight so the ticket firm could get a booking fee from fans? Are you joking?iamasadlittleboy wrote:That the arena seems to get a nice booking fee TWICE from poor fans...NEITHER bout was rescheduled either.
