Crap my thread came after this because I'm slow. Huge credit to both. Amazing shot and amazing that Curtis got up even if his senses were major scrambled.

Yep - top man is Curtis .
Not many would do a post fight interview having just been sparked out - open and honest - he didn't even recall what had happened ! ....respect.

Curtis Woodhouse
No matter what people say, not many blokes have had a pro football career then changed to being a pro boxer fighting live on Sky. Hold your head up high mate. What a thing to tell your gran kids when you get older. That is what you call living life to the full.

Re: Curtis Woodhouse
That's a personal message to Curtis , just PM him ffs
Re: Curtis Woodhouse
As much as I respect the guy for that he's achieved a lot in his life lot to be proud of he DOES NOT deserve a shot at Derry Matthews if he reads this him and his team can laugh it off but is a farce really, just typifys boxing sometimes, profile over talent
Re: Curtis woodhouse the warrior
I crapped myself when Curtis went down it looked like it could be a really bad KO, so was glad when he got up and wasn't badly hurt. All credit to the man, from very early it seemed clear he was right up against it and just in one level too high, but he was brave and gallant and had his successes before succumbing to a big shot.
Just glad everyne's ok and you will live to fight another day Curtis, also don't think it's beyond the realms of possibility that Curtis could come again at that level, just like Derry said he's probably above that level himself anyway. Derry more like top British/decent Euro level like Crolla, Mitchell etc.

Re: Curtis Woodhouse
He did deserve a shot. He had a decent enough record to challenge for the Commonwealth title.Ross1234 wrote:As much as I respect the guy for that he's achieved a lot in his life lot to be proud of he DOES NOT deserve a shot at Derry Matthews if he reads this him and his team can laugh it off but is a farce really, just typifys boxing sometimes, profile over talent

Tijuana1(Graham Fearn) and Frankie Gavin, and he boxed Johnny Rocco, cant remember his username. There will be loads.
Re: Curtis woodhouse the warrior
i think Curtis is great for boxing and was rooting for him.
But I thought he looked frail this time, unlike against Joe Elfidh - perhaps he was hovering around the weight for too long and over trained a bit too.
I thought he would divebomb the 135lb limit and get straight back up again in weight, but he looks like he's been walking around at it and sacrificed some muscle mass. When your like that every single shot rattles you.
Hopefully he will give us an overview on everything today like he normally does.

I was surprised at how quickly Mathews hurt him. I thought it would have been the other way around with Woodhouse jumping on Derry early.G0mez wrote:i think Curtis is great for boxing and was rooting for him.

Maybe going back up in weight will be his next move.
Well done to Derry again. He's been written off more times than a Q plate XR3i.
Re: Curtis woodhouse the warrior
Derry Matthews really showed up last night! Curtis gave it his best and couldn't really cope, the final punch was very good and Curtis did well to get straight back up, the ref did a good job. Matthews ought to have another bash at the European - he looked well balanced and hit hard every punch. I hope Curtis comes again and isn't feeling too low this morning.
Re: Curtis woodhouse the warrior
Derry shown he was a level above Curtis I was a bit worried after that shot it was a peach like the one he hit Tommy Coyle with.
Still big respect to Curtis met him at Luke Campbells debut and he is a sound fella. Whatever he does with himself now I wish him the best.
