Re: Haye v Fury postponed due to injury to haye ???
I believe that Fury would beat Haye. I've stated this several times before, so I'm not just saying it now that Haye has pulled out.jamesmcdonnell wrote:Yes, so why wouldn't he just fight Fury, for a similarly huge payday, and in the (hugely) unlikely eventually he lost, make up another excuse?
Haye's marketability suffers less from losing to a Klitschko than losing to Fury.jamesmcdonnell wrote:Your logic is non-existent.
Are you saying Haye is mortally afraid of getting in the ring with Fury, but not bothered about taking on the best heavyweight in the world - or are you saying that Fury is actually better than Wlad?
Losing to Fury would embarrass Haye.

Mate, Haye is a professional boxer - they confront the fear of losing and being embarassed every single time they enter the ring. The multi million pound paydays at top level make it worth it.Horse wrote:I believe that Fury would beat Haye. This is really some of the dumbest shit I've read since my pet Macac monkey got hold of my laptop.

Haye's earned this distrust with his game playing before.jamesmcdonnell wrote:Mate, Haye is a professional boxer - they confront the fear of losing and being embarassed every single time they enter the ring. The multi million pound paydays at top level make it worth it.

Fair enough, but when the alternative is to believe he cut himself, or that they have hired a make-up artist to do the cut for him (I kid you not, it's in the CS) to avoid a fight with Tyson Fury there isn't much to give him the benefit for.Horse wrote:Haye's earned this distrust with his game playing before.jamesmcdonnell wrote:Mate, Haye is a professional boxer - they confront the fear of losing and being embarassed every single time they enter the ring. Would a normal fighter be suspected of playing such silly games?SNG wrote:Fair enough, but when the alternative is to believe he cut himself, or that they have hired a make-up artist to do the cut for him (I kid you not, it's in the CS) to avoid a fight with Tyson Fury there isn't much to give him the benefit for.
Haye has made a fool of himself and he deserves the complete lack of respect that he is getting.
He is the least trustworthy fighter in the world.

Fine, but do you actually believe that either of those two scenarios could possibly be real? It's absurd.Horse wrote:Would a normal fighter be suspected of playing such silly games?SNG wrote:Fair enough, but when the alternative is to believe he cut himself, or that they have hired a make-up artist to do the cut for him (I kid you not, it's in the CS) to avoid a fight with Tyson Fury there isn't much to give him the benefit for.

So what are you going to say when the fight is rescheduled and goes ahead? What will your reasoning be then? He again changed his mind, and decided he wasn't scared of the big bad gypsy any more?Horse wrote:Haye's earned this distrust with his game playing before.jamesmcdonnell wrote:Mate, Haye is a professional boxer - they confront the fear of losing and being embarassed every single time they enter the ring. Fury has confirmed he wants the rescheduled fight - so it will most likely happen now anyway.
Re: Haye v Fury postponed due to injury to haye ???
Maybe it gave him more time to prepare after an initially poor training camp.jamesmcdonnell wrote:So what are you going to say when the fight is rescheduled and goes ahead? What will your reasoning be then? He again changed his mind, and decided he wasn't scared of the big bad gypsy any more?
Good. Fury is still going to smash Haye's head in.jamesmcdonnell wrote:Fury has confirmed he wants the rescheduled fight - so it will most likely happen now anyway.
Re: Haye v Fury postponed due to injury to haye ???
I've just had someone try telling me that they're all in cahoots (Haye's team and Fury's) and 'cutgate' is a work to make the fight worth an extra few millions in PPV when it happens at the end of January. What next?
Re: Haye v Fury postponed due to injury to haye ???
I heard a rumour that Haye is friends with a make up artist on Casualty.
Nah, I made that up.

Nah, I made that up.

I think one of the biggest smoke signals is Adam Booth deleting his twitter account immediately after the news broke.
This behaviour necessarily matches the behaviour profile of duplicity.
If you don't want to or cannot make a work or social engagement and you are forced into lying to placate the people you are letting down ... If you are not an adept and accomplished liar, comfortable with fielding multiple questions with further lies (which thankfully most people are not!) ... You leave the bare minimum of information normally via text, email or catching the person deliberately on voicemail ... And then become uncontactable, until the dust settles.
Booth deleting his Twitter account is not coincidence
The whole thing STINKS.

Yes, scar tissue takes around a year to achieve 90% of its former strength. It continues to mature slowly for another year, hopefully achieving a final strength in the low-90s, but it's always a risk thereafter through loss of pliability. The standard recovery period for incisions (minus underlying complications) is six weeks for contact sports.jamesmcdonnell wrote:causing scar tissue for later fights
But given that the contact sport in question is heavyweight boxing, longer than that would be highly advisable. Christmas.
Chris Eubank advocated sparring as close to his fights as possible. Does anyone know how many days before them he stopped? (Benn was the opposite, and preferred to avoid heavy sparring because it was risky and not 'real'.)

Re: Haye v Fury postponed due to injury to haye ???
What happens to all the bell ends who bought the tickets to sell on and rip off fellow boxing fans? Do the people who paid extortionate prices get their money back? Or will the touts get screwed over with booking fees and have to give full refund back to the buyers?

The touts will only get face value from the original booking. Secondary agents hold the cash until the event has taken place. They used to pay out as soon as the ticket had been sent out. Michael Jackson changed all that... The touts kept the money from the buyer and got their cards refunded from the original purchase.Wa1nuts wrote:What happens to all the bell ends who bought the tickets to sell on and rip off fellow boxing fans? Why do you (and a lot of other people) think people who buy and sell tickets are bell ends? I don't get it.
