I hope the US Team does really well but three gold medals would be an historical accomplishment for a US junior team. The last US teams at World Juniors and World Youth Championships and haven´t been impressive at all.
USA has participated at 5 out of 8 World Juniors and only won two gold medals (Isiah Thomas in 2005 and Frankie Gomez in 2007), 3 silver and 11 bronze medals. The last US team at the 2009 World Juniors ended up without medals. This time it looks as though the US team will come better prepared thanks to Pedro Roque.

Coach Pedro is the most involved Coach I have ever seen. He was at the Jr Golden Gloves looking at like every fight. He is really hands on and is even asking fighters about diets. He had held 4 camps for Team Usa, I think they may do well at Jr Worlds

Not sure how good Italian team is but I think they did a lil better than Team Usa at Olympics 2012? I hear the Italian team lacks speed

No but they will have other international events for the young men to showcase their skills. The 3 kids who are only 15 gained valuable international experience and will do very well next year

There will be the Pan American junior championships in 2014 and in 2016 the World Youth Championships both for boxers born in 1998 and 1999.
In addition Team USA competed in the Uman Junior Championships earlier this year and may do so again next year and of course there are the National Junior Olympics.
Much to look forward to and prepare for.

Exactly 2 months to go until Jr World Championships in Usa. If I'm not mistaken I believe there is like 5 very good Talents now old enough coming up from School boy group to compete for Jr World Team. Not Sure if their coaches are aware of importance of This Tournament in Reno Jan 6-11 but this is how to get on team Usa. Gonna be a very interesting Team with a trio of kids perhaps returning and possibly going on to World dominance. With hard work its possible, time to get started. Good luck to all who strive to make the team

They are having both the Jr and Youth Tourney at same place n time. The Youth Tourney at 123 is gonna be to good to be true. I think Stevenson, Ochoa,Villa, Sanchez all fighting at 123 . Who ever wins is gonna be very tough. 152 should be very tough also.

Just found out Evan Sanchez is only 15 and he too will be trying to make Team Usa again in January. Sanchez pulled of big surprise victory at National P.a.l.over the very good Bruce Carrington in October. So team Usa has a total of 4 very , very good boxers looking to make Jr team Usa again.
