Re: Haye v Fury postponed due to injury to haye ???
selling tickets at an inflated cost is nothing new, what about the petrol pumps? When we hear on the news that oil prices have gone up due to production costs, boom the petrol goes up too and that petrol has been in the tank for months. Potato farmers do it too, a bit of rain then a sack o spuds go up by a couple of quid. Everyone no matter who you are are trying to sell something at an inflated cost if we can buy it cheaper and move it on at a higher price. It also goes for drugs. The top man sells at X amount, then the next man mixes some talcum powder to it and sells at a inflated cost, the next man adds some icing sugar or cement powder and adds a few extra quid. The corner shop has frozen bread in his freezer and sells at 60p more after 4pm on a sunday when Sainsbury closes. You cannot get away from it no matter who you are you buy and sell to make a quick quid. If you say 'I dont' you are a liar. There are only 2 types of men, there are wankers and there are liars!

I can assure you touts lose money too. If you get it wrong, you could end up with a couple of quid for a £30 ticket. Also, people like Rhianna may add five or six shows when the first ones sell out and the value of your ticket instantly decreases. You have to really know what your doing or you could get your fingers burnt. I could tell you a few that are cast iron certainties, though... Anyone want Arctic Monkeys, Sheffield or Earls court £110 each!

Dont worry adam j i know what you mean.Adamj1987 wrote:usually...i joshAden wrote:
So the guy who runs the corner-shop is a bell end?
but you know dam well what i mean. if you dont want to go to the event dont buy the ticket. also in your example the cornershop man would be eventim or ticketmaster, the guy buying the last chocolate bar and standing outside selling it for £5 is the tout and that makes him a bell end
Your choice ends up pay a stupid price or miss out. Its not comparable to a corner shop owner because that is operating in a free market you can choose to go to a different shop. The tickets are limited so you dont have the choice to go somewhere else.
I cant honestly believe that these fights are selling out in 10 mins to standard fans.
Re: Haye v Fury postponed due to injury to haye ???
The tickets being limited is precisely why they should, in my view, be available to the highest bidders. If there were an infinite amount of tickets available for a venue with an infinite capacity we'd all be able to watch for free.
Re: Haye v Fury postponed due to injury to haye ???
There are ethical ticket sites/exchanges people can use. You can also get cheap tickets outside some gigs if you're lucky, I have a few times. I got £200 off a tout for two rugby union tickets outside of Twickenham, I've no idea what he got for them.
I'm trying to get One Direction tickets on Saturday morning for a Christmas present, tickets for the other Manchetser date are already on Ebay for £80+. It is annoying if you can't get tickets for face value but at least there's a chance to still get tickets.

Why not put them all on ebay from the vendor them and then the higgest bidder will always get it, but they wont do that as people wont pay like that to get tickets its only when then touts have bought the remaining tickets that this econamy comes into play.Aden wrote:The tickets being limited is precisely why they should, in my view, be available to the highest bidders. Some of the festivals have the right idea if you want to sell on you have to go through them as the tickets have your face printed on or name printed on and have to provied ID that its you with the ticket. Stops this tout market.
I will never use a tour, kve had spare tickets for fights and concerts before and they wont even pay you face for them but sell the same ticktes on for 5x face

It's really not difficult. With Ticketmaster just refresh from 9.57 onwards repeatedly.SNG wrote:That's the one I'm trying to get tickets for, they go on sale at 10am Saturday morning.mickey1975 wrote:They have announced an extra date.SNG wrote:There are ethical ticket sites/exchanges people can use. I knew you were joking. I just thought what this thread needs after all the bollocks early on is a One Direction discusson, it's about as relevant as half the shite posted in there the last two days.Finn wrote:im just f**king with you i dont know that muppet really, if i was going to be mates with any of them it would be Harry "Mack Daddy" Styles because older women is where its at.SNG wrote: He's my sisters favourite, she doesn't like Gabby Agbonlahor much.

There are a number of reasons why event promoters would not put their tickets up for sale on Ebay in the first instance.Adamj1987 wrote:Why not put them all on ebay from the vendor them and then the higgest bidder will always get it, but they wont do that as people wont pay like that to get tickets its only when then touts have bought the remaining tickets that this econamy comes into play.
That's up to the people selling the tickets, I've no problem with that approach if it's how they want to do it. Michael Eavis, I suspect, will soon realise that his festival will lose a lot of atmosphere (he may not be bothered, like I say, it's up to him) by restricting some of the people who want to go to his festival the most from having the best opportunity to do so.Adamj1987 wrote:Some of the festivals have the right idea if you want to sell on you have to go through them as the tickets have your face printed on or name printed on and have to provied ID that its you with the ticket. I'm not trying to convince you to buy from or sell to anybody you don't want to, however, I don't believe that if they could get five times face they'd refuse to buy for face. In fact, I know that's not the case. Where they start negotiations is a different matter.Adamj1987 wrote:I will never use a tour, kve had spare tickets for fights and concerts before and they wont even pay you face for them but sell the same ticktes on for 5x face

Re: Haye v Fury postponed due to injury to haye ???
Some are trying a paperless ticketing option where the cardholder who paid has to swipe his card and show id and they let his party in(Iron Maiden, Robbie Williams at The O2, The Killers at Leeds, Radiohead). The tout would then just arrange to meet the three buyers outside the venue and walk in with them. And then straight back out... A few years ago Guns n Roses sent a barcode to your phone instead of a ticket. People started selling crap payg on eBay with the barcode on! There is always a way.. Except Glastonbury, which is a tough one to crack.
Re: Haye v Fury postponed due to injury to haye ???
Well your facts are wrong, honestly ive gone up to them with 2 spare tickets as friends couldnt make it to tray and get thier money back and i told them all i want is face not more not less. The guy rang what i assume is hs boss to see if he could do it and said noAden wrote:There are a number of reasons why event promoters would not put their tickets up for sale on Ebay in the first instance.Adamj1987 wrote:Why not put them all on ebay from the vendor them and then the higgest bidder will always get it, but they wont do that as people wont pay like that to get tickets its only when then touts have bought the remaining tickets that this econamy comes into play.
