Our old mate Socko has not been on the Sim for a VERY long time... He has not commented on the Sim Week 11 - as such his fighters will be taken off the active list.

Who are Socks fighters? I would love to swap Mills for someone who has the chance to be competitive. I believe Foster is one of them and would be happy with a trade.

Unfortunately, I cannot sanction that. Fighters are not available to be recruited while they are frozen in their Manager's absence....

Perhaps you should ask Mr Sock if he would be okay with that, if he agrees ask him to PM me and I'll sanction that immediately.

Allow me to a moment to explain my position on this, you guys should know by now that I try to be transparent in every decision that I make.

Throughout this season I have taken Managers off the active list through their inactivity (which slows the Sim down considerably) as such I decided that their fighters should be held in reserve (or "frozen" is the word I have prefered to use) should they ever want to return. I thought this was the lesser of two evils, because it would be even worse if they returned to the Sim and found that their two guys were fighting for other stables - and the height of that insult would be if their former fighters were doing well.

I think that this was the best way to go, it's not perfect but I believe that was making the best of a bad situation.

The downside to it all is that we will never know what would have happened with some fighters, for example:

Tiger Jack Fox was the number one man the last time we had a Light Heavyweight season - but because Jbacca was inactive, Fox has been on the sidelines for ages now.

John Henry Lewis was doing remarkably welll until his Mangaer The End departed... And because of his high ranking, I decided to throw him in the MDT to give him another chance.... Even if he wins it, he will do so recognised as a CPU opponent.

All Managers are entitled to voice their thoughts on this, I am always willing to examine the situation form another angle.

I think we have some folks who literally have not visited the forum for months. If so, let's allow for this trade. I'm thinking the time has come to reward those who are active, and to at least accept the apparent disappearance of some ex managers.

Not sure just what fighters that may put into play, but I'll look into it.

P4P can get Foster, assuming Sock has been gone for a number of weeks, not keeping count myself. P4P is active and with the season already into week 22, I don't think Sock is coming back...

For what it's worth, I would be reluctant to allow other Managers to recruit Sock's fighters, it just feels as though it's changing the rules halfway through a season... Maybe I'll start a poll on this.

As for Mr Sock, we all know that he (and a few others) have had tendency to go absent without leave in mulitple seasons...
It definitely is a recurring problem that we seem to have.

I know that life can sometimes get in the way of The Sim - we all live various problems in our lives - but it really does make you wonder why they would register for a new season if they had no interest in going through with it.

At the very least, our missing Brothers could declare themselves out for the rest of the season to free up their fighters.

It's a tricky situation.
