Mike Perez update

Post by johnswan1 »

Fighting in November (second fight this year & second fight since 2011) against Russian Magomed Abdusalamov 18-0 (18 KO's) in MSG Theatre in November. This guy has eleven 1st round KO's so could be interesting. Abdusalamov is 6'3, his record includes a 2nd round TKO of Jameel McCline and fights at 220-230 lbs (having began his career around 260 lbs).

Yeah - looks like a great fight on paper. Perez probably the underdog, seeing as he's put in some mixed performances since winning Prizefighter two years ago.

Not sure who's promoting it? Would be great if allegedly picked this one up.

Perez has apparently signed with K-2 Promotions.

He'll have more opportunities now. Golovkin's career was in limbo before signing with K-2, now he's a star.

Didn't McCline have Mogamed all over the place in the first, but didn't follow it up? Or have I got the wrong fight.

And McCline also collapsed for the count from a hard jab. It's a bit of a misleading result to be honest.

If Perez is in shape and focused he should spark this guy out, but if he's not....

Ya, and it seemed to me like McCline's knee might have given out rather than the punch itself causing the stoppage.

I'm going with Perez in this one. Mago's defense is horrible (even against mediocre opponents), he doesn't seem that durable, and I think Perez has the skill to land regularly and avoid getting caught with Mago's powerful but crude attacks.

Didn't realise this McCline conquerer had such an impressive KO streak. Certainly a match to keep on the radar.
