Hi,
Anyone get to York Hall on Friday night if so what did you think of my friend Deano Burrell who fought on the card?
Him and his twin brother are back over in December so will be great to see them both fighting on that bill.

I was ringside, he won 40-36. Wasnt overly impressed to be honest. Never gave Kristian any real trouble, maybe I was expecting a lot more of him given his record or maybe he has massively padded record against complete novices.Hardhitters11 wrote:Hi,

I was there. Wasn't that impressed with the opponent. Seen more competitive sparring.
Well done to Dean though

Re: York Hall Friday night?
Kristian is very tricky and probably the best journeyman around, and one of the best ever tbh IMO, he knows how to look after himself and minimise the risk of damage, and make it a tough nights work for anybody, so think it would be hard to judge him (Burrell) solely on this performance.
Our plan was to go out and have a look at Burrell in the 1st round and see what he had, if his record was justified or not. I thought Burell had quick hands and looked strong inside, other than that he seemed quite limited (Kris agreed). Burrell seemed to intent on big wide swinging back hands and throwing a bowling left into Kristians midrift, which became very easy to read. He needs to use his jab and double jab more and move his feet, because he seemed to plant his feet to long before he would throw and all we needed to do was just move slightly and he kept falling short or over reaching which allowed Kristian to counter him with a hook, which he had success with the couple times he threw it and countered him.
I think he has potential and he seemed a really nice kid and that is obviously true has he seemed to have a good 150-200 fans there to support him. Hope he does well and think he will against someone who comes to fight and opens up.
P.S I'm glad Kristian got a good write up on the main page for his continuos hard work and great efforts he puts in to the fights and this sport, we would be lost without him and all the lads just like him.

Yh definitely Jon, makes a nice change mate, the write up was spot on aswell, Kris made the kid look very ordinary. Only what he deserves mate. Its a absolute pleasure taking Kris on the road, great kid and great at his work
