David Haye very bad for British Boxing Fans
David Haye pulling out of his 28th September fight with Tyson Fury is very very bad for boxing fans. the fight was SOLD OUT with 20,000 boxing fans having bought tickets for the bout at Manchester Arena. The fight sold out within 2 days with 95% of the tickets being sold in Block to various online organizations, touts etc. myself i bought my ticket off the online EBAY Website. with Hotels and train tickets paid for my out goings was £400 (£300 ticket) Now that it looks like this fight will never happen with the February 8th date looking very very shaky indeed. The promoters of the show Hennessey & Hayemaker tell us that Ticket prices will be refunded at the original source ONLY!
This means that my ticket which i paid £300 for and has a face value of £148 is now worthless as any refund from Manchester Arena can only be given back to the credit/debit card which purchased that ticket. How can any professional Boxer in the world ever trust David Haye to sign and honor a fight contract after this debacle. Haye has previously pulled out of several fights but this was the Big one and the losers are not the two fighters but the boxing fans who bought tickets, booked hotels and trains to support the fighters. Would i ever buy another ticket to a David Haye fight --- NEVER

Haye couldn't care less.
Re: David Haye very bad for British Boxing Fans
Whatever people think about Tyson Fury his interview is 100% what will happen Haye will fight Wlad or Povetkin sometime next year. Hopefully Joshua v Hughie Fury can become out next big HW fight.

Re: David Haye very bad for British Boxing Fans
All this talk of Haye being a joke or unprofessional are just clueless. I understand people being seriously hacked off at the postponement, especially if they've pre booked hotels etc but this is pro boxing, it happens every year for a multitiude of differing reasons. Why on earth would Haye himself disrupt this fight, after weeks of intense training and paying for top sparring partners etc.
It was a genuine cut and a genuine reason for postponement. Don't for one minute think Fury would not have done exactly the same thing if the roles were reversed. In any event the BBBofC would not allow either fighter to fight with 7 internal stitches in a wound only 8 days earlier.
Admittedly Haye has had more than his fair share of postponements but when he's been fit and has fought I for one have enjoyed some good nights watching him.

actually £3400 down. but not to worry i will lay David Haye whenever he ever fights again because he is incapable of beating any decent heavyweight on earth. Whereas Tyson Fury is destined for greatness as not a single fighter on earth has a hope of beating him. He will go on to be the greatest Heavyweight in the history of the sport, break Marciano's record 50-0Andypittcov wrote:Look on the bright side you're £600 up

Re: David Haye very bad for British Boxing Fans
People seriously underestimating Haye in this fight.
It's almost as if all Fury has to do now, is turn up in Feb and the victory is his.
Tyson should give his mind and body a good rest, and look at the positives. This camp has been a proper learning curve, he's gone through a big boy's camp for a proper PPV fight. He's in great shape and is now learning another lesson on how to remain relaxed and not being eaten up with stress and disappointment over the postponement.
Sure, Vitali hanging around concerns certain quarters - but the guy is no longer any interest to Brit fans, certainly nowhere near as interesting as Haye vs Fury.
It will happen. Too much money on the table and both fighters believe in their chances.

I love that a guy who's been decked by the likes of Peijic and Cunningham is going to break Marciano's record! Hell, Big John beat him in their first meeting. We need to dig this thread up when Fury goes to sleep against the first decent puncher he faces, or is outboxed by the first decent boxer who is remotely in his weight class.
Re: David Haye very bad for British Boxing Fans
If he keeps on having as many fights as he's had this year it'll take him 29 years.sonnyboyx2 wrote:...break Marciano's record 50-0 over the next 10yrs

I never thought that for a moment; he's outperformed my expectations already. The key thing is, he's levels above Fury, who can't really box and has big stamina problems.

Re: David Haye very bad for British Boxing Fans
Im not convinced either have stamina issues I cenrtainly dont think fury has and haye has done 12 rounds a few times and latter rounds quite a few too although some have been with limited output. People say he was gassed against chisora but that was a very fast paced fight not many fighters have chisoras engine at hw.Horse wrote:Fury has decent stamina, it is Haye who has major stamina problems.SamWise72 wrote:I never thought that for a moment; he's outperformed my expectations already. Yep, same here, never really expected Haye to achieve much at heavyweight, he's a fairly small guy build wise, and not really built for it. I was surprised when he unified the cruiserweight title to be honest.SamWise72 wrote:iamasadlittleboy wrote:I love that a guy who was decked by Lolenga Mock was going to be the great Heavyweight savior...SamWise72 wrote:I love that a guy who's been decked by the likes of Peijic and Cunningham is going to break Marciano's record! This thread is proper out of order, I tell thee! I'm the saviour of the heavyweight division!
Frightening violence, horror! Unspeakable violence the likes of which has not been seen since Tyson and Liston times! Behold....

I've broken my little toe twice and if I had a fight scheduled with Wladimir Klitschko, I would have postponed, no question at all.
In all fairness. Haye could have postponed, but didn't.

Give it up! Toetally daft to suggest it was a factoe in the fight.keithmoonhangover wrote:I've broken my little toe twice and if I had a fight scheduled with Wladimir Klitschko, I would have postponed, no question at all.

Fury was blowing hard after 3-4 rounds against Cunningham, and that's not unusual for him.Finn wrote:Im not convinced either have stamina issues I cenrtainly dont think fury has and haye has done 12 rounds a few times and latter rounds quite a few too although some have been with limited output. Pretty much. It's a shame, but that's the risk you take when you buy tickets to boxing matches.Chambers2 wrote: That's boxing!! If you have a cut you can't fight

The only ever fight I got tickets to was a Joe Calzaghe fight. (Who himself had a bad reputation for getting injured before fights.) It ended up being cancelled. Luckily the card went ahead, though I travelled to Cardiff to watch Danny Williams vs Matt Skelton 2, with Amir Khan and Enzo Mac both fighting on the undercard.
I guess the rule is, only buy tickets to fights that you can commute to. And if you absolutely have to travel to the fight, book a hotel that has a free cancellation policy.

have i missed something?
