The WBA Regular Title & David Haye

Post by keithmoonhangover »

I think the title will be vacant as of Saturday night. Haye is the #1 contender, so will he fight for it?

Is it possible the WBA would have the February fight for the title? Or would they want it filled as soon as to make money? Maybe Fury fight for it and if he won defend against Haye in February??

I could see it being sanctioned haye is the number one on that list im sure it will be fiddled with so that fury is ranked in the wba top 10.

Looks like they have already fiddled with it, judging by the four fighters ranked above Fury!!

Well, the sham that is the WBA regular title is now vacant.

It is good in a way, because if you win it and defend it a couple of times, your fight with Wlad goes to purse bids and you don't have to accept his terms.

So.....

Who's gonna fight for it? Chageav had a canny win last night. Arreola beat Mitchell. Haye is #1.

I can't see them waiting until Haye-Fury for the vacant title.

Agreed, this Super World Champion thing is the biggest disgrace out.
:shame:

I'm glad to see Chagaev back. It will certainly spice up the Heavyweight division a bit. Hopefully Ibragimov and Valuev come back as well - they are probably better than this current crop that we are stuck with today.

Maybe the WBA could sanction an eight-0man tournament, that would certainly capture the boxing public's imagination.

And you could choose eight from:

Haye, Fury, Price, Chisora - just getting the four Brits out of the way.

Pulev, Adamek, Solis, Arreola, Thompson, Wilder, Helenius, Dimitrenko, Boytsov.

Just as a follow-up to that - Haye probably won't do it because it's a high-risk strategy.
And neither would Pulev - why would he risk his high ranking for this tournament?

How much longer can the WBA continue with two world heavyweight titles?

It's an absolute embarrassment. Shameful that fighters willingly go along with it.

Why not divvy it up some more and have three WBA titles? People could fight just to become the undisputed WBA champion?
