Hit harder yes but he ain't quicker than anyone I've faced.. Time will tell my friend but one thing is certain I'll be fully prepared to do what ever it takes to bring that belt back home with mehurlock wrote:I thought it was batman because you can't go out without robbing ha!!
I take it you are under no illusions this guy is going to be alot quicker then you or anybody else you've ever thought & hit harder.
Does your game plan change as you may spot other areas & pick up advice from people on the circuit or do you just stick with the plan you've set & is it from dela hoyas vault ?

I am hearing rumours that Adonis will not fight Tony?

Well you and the people you know are not involved in the promotion are you.. So you really believe he's going to give up his WBC title! Care to say we're these rumours are coming from?
Re: Bellew V Stevenson
It was just on FB Tony, for what it is worth I can't wait for the fight to happen,'I think you have a lot of tools to give Adonis a hell of a lot of trouble. If you say the fight is still happening that is good enough for meBomber 1 wrote:taffytoon wrote:I am hearing rumours that Adonis will not fight Tony?

And for the record I seriously wish you all the luck in the world against him, you have the boxing ability and you certainly have the heart.

Well everyone's got their price, and HBO will definitely be pushing for Adonis to take on the Russian - so it might be either: vacate his belt for bigger bucks, or step aside money...however the spanner in the works is hardly anyone outside Canada and the boxing world knows much about either fighter....so unless HBO consider it a worthwhile investment, it might be tricky to pull off, and Tony gets his fight.Bomber 1 wrote:taffytoon wrote:I am hearing rumours that Adonis will not fight Tony?

Re: Bellew V Stevenson
I largely agree with MW.
From reading between the lines of what people are writing East of the Vistula, if a decent match can be made (i.e. Stevenson), Kovalev will fight in the States at the end of the year or very early next year before possibly heading back to Russia for a series of defences there (the guy putting up the cash for Wlad vs Povetkin has already been approached by Kovalev's handlers ans is rumoured to be keen). A certain Anthony Bellew is the stumbling block. I wouldn't be surprised if step aside money is offered (it may have been already for all I know). I think it is extremely unlikely Stevenson would vacate the WBC but who knows for sure other than him and his people.

Stevenson has already been allowed to make one voluntary defence.
Another mandatory shot won't be waived.

Could a unification surpass that or? Im not entirely sure of the situation between certain governing bodies and their relationships when it comes to unifications though.Chris W 1982 wrote:Stevenson has already been allowed to make one voluntary defence.

Not entirely sure but anything the WBC does never surprises me.
The Bomber is mandatory and has been for a number of months now. In a fair world, he deserves his shot. He picked his route, stuck to it, overcame obstacles, and is now knocking on the door.
Does Stevenson v Kovalev/Hopkins carry the same weight without a world title? Certain boxers don't need a title but I'm not sure Stevenson is one of those just yet.

To answer all questions will take too long, the fight is virtually done.. I can't say I've signed it cos that would be a lie but it's all wrote up and the presser is set up.. This fight is happening and I'll gladly fight the Russian too.. I'll dodge no one..
I should also state the WBC have stuck to there word since day 1 and have been a pleasure to work with to be honest

How often do WBC champs fight twice in 8 or so weeks

Re: Bellew V Stevenson
I don't think in this day & age your certain until your driving to the venue.
The l.heavy division has been shaken up & it's bubbling you've got cleverley & cloud in the wilderness & have to really test themselfs v the fringe contenders like Alvarez,Chilemba, bellew, pascal, bute& the two new champs look great plus we have some big supers lightly to step up I can see ward chasing the competition maybe froch?? Dirrell could.

But is a decent, but ultimately losing, performance against Cleverly really a good marker? When he was totally blown away by the first world level fighter he faced?
Its going to be kick Ryan Rhodes or Mathew Hatton when they travelled for there title fights

Get ready to loose your goldfish then eh mate, you and everyone else is gonna see how to execute a game plan against a highly dangerous fighter.. As for the Bob Ajisafe comments.. It's all part of learning, I basically took him on when nobody would go near him, a tall southpaw Ingle fighter.. Look what he has gone on to do, I've served my apprentiship and I'm ready for a fight of this magnitude, amazing how easily I'm being written off but I'm happy with that as it'll be all the sweeter when I deal with Stevenson..
