I am suprised he didn't do the APB but I hear he wants to win a world title very quickly, even faster than Rigondeaux did. Lomachenko is starting out fighting a 10 rounder. Now that's starting where he should as a 2 x Olympic gold medal winner. No starting off fighting the bum of the month club like other decent pros. Roy Jones jr also started off like this except he boxed scheduled 8 rounders for his first 6 fights before moving to 10 rounders.

Maybe he didn't sign a contract with the APB and only verbally said he will do it but who knows when the ABP will actually start. They say this year but...?
TopRank also signed Oleksandr Usyk who won gold in London.

Have only one confirmed gold medallist sign up for APB is a bad sign. Joshua and Lomachenko would have given APB instant credibility.

I can only speak about two of the 6 medallists you've mentioned without looking at some Olympic footage.
Fred Evans lost his way a bit in the WSB, looked lacking in confidence and I would suggest he didn't have pro promoters scrambling for his signature.
Clemente Russo has what some would call 'a successful style' but I defy anybody to part with their money to watch him cling on for 3 rounds.

After AIBA announced the APB signing of Lomachenko during the Olympics, Lomachenkos father quickly announced Vasyl only had signed a letter of intention and no real contract. It is a big blow to AIBA that most gold medalists (specially Lomachenko and Joshua I would say) have chosen the traditional pro circuit.

It is a big blow to AIBA that most gold medalists (specially Lomachenko and Joshua I would say) have chosen the traditional pro circuit.

Another one bites the dust for APB. Bronze medallist Y. Falcao has signed a pro deal with Golden Boy. This one is particularly embarrassing for AIBA given that he was supposed to be the co-headliner for APB's first exhibition matches in Brazil last month. I guess now we know why that did not go through.

I thought that Falcao would stay with AIBA with the Olympics in Brazil. Not a good sign for APB.

Sapiyev, 29, who was forced to end his career after the Games due to a severe wrist fracture, was also recently awarded a Presidential Scholarship and will be leaving soon to the United Kingdom to start a Masters degree in Sports Management at Brunel University in London.
