Re: Which Post Louis Linnear Champions Would Wlad Beat?
Louis - 2
Charles - 1
Walcott - 1
Marciano - 3 (though I'd favor Rocky)
Patterson - 1
Johansson - 1
Liston - 2
Ali - 2 (though I think he'd give Ali a lot of trouble)
Frazier - 2
Foreman - 2
L. Spinks - 1
Holmes - 2
M. Spinks - 1
Tyson - 2
Douglas - 1
Holyfield - 2
Bowe - 3 (though I'd favor Wlad)
Moorer - 1
Briggs - 1 (Briggs has a puncher's chance, but I think Wlad beats him more often than not)
Lewis - 2
Rahman - 1
So that's 9 guys I think he'd definitely beat, 9 guys I think would definitely beat him, and 2 that could go either way.
It should be noted I almost listed the Moorer fight as a 3, but I really don't think Moorer could beat him.
Charles - 1

Louis- 2
Charles- 3 (the size difference is a definite factor, but Charles would be BY FAR the most skilled boxer Klit's ever faced and Charles has the power to hurt Klitschko unlike Byrd; favor Klitschko but I don't count Ezzard out)
Walcott- 2 (Walcott's performance past-prime vs the very Wlad-like Hoff tells me a peak Walcott wins)
Marciano- 3
Patterson- 1
Johansson- 3 (has the "Toonder" but Ingo also a much better overall fighter than given credit for)
Liston- 2
Ali- 2
Frazier- 2
Foreman- 2
L. Spinks- 1
Holmes- 2
M. Spinks- 1
Tyson- 2
Douglas- 3
Holyfield- 2
Bowe- 2
Moorer- 1
Briggs-3 (the fact that I just can't make this a 1 is why Wlad's not a ATG)
Lewis- 2
Rahman- 1
Charles- 3 (the size difference is a definite factor, but Charles would be BY FAR the most skilled boxer Klit's ever faced and Charles has the power to hurt Klitschko unlike Byrd; favor Klitschko but I don't count Ezzard out)

I went with the 1 there, though I probably see the same puncher's chance as you two guys. I don't think Briggs gets it done most of the time though...perhaps I should've went with the 3 on that one, but I'm confident Wlad would beat him.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:LOL, I tried really hard to put a 1 there, I just kept seeing Briggs rocking Lewis.dempseyfire wrote: Briggs-3 (the fact that I just can't make this a 1 is why Wlad's not a ATG)

1 would mean that the other guy doesn't win under any circumstances. I'd certainly pick Wlad. Then again, I'd pick Walcott, Marciano, Douglas & Moorer to beat Wlad.

Charles, and Walcott has a chance.
Marciano, is a 50/50 could go either way.
He smashes out Patterson and Johansson.
I favor Liston.
Can't catch Ali.
Frazier is a 50/50 could go either way.
Foreman smashes Vladimir.
Leon Spinks gets kayoed inside of three rounds.
Holmes boxes Vladimir's ears off.
Tyson, is a 50/50 could go either way.
Douglas gets TKO'd around 10-11 rounds.
Holyfield wins a unaminous decision in a competitive fight.
Bowe wins by late TKO stoppage, say 10-11 rounds.
Moorer is a 50/50, could go either way.
Briggs is too slow, and loses a wide decision.
Lewis wins by TKO around the 8th round.
Vladimir has already beaten Rahman and I cant see a prime version doing much better.

Prime Rahman could jab with Wlad and one right hand could end the fight. Wlad is more professional, so I'd favor him. To say Rahman could never do better than he did as a shot old man is comedy.

Slow? I think you're equating the current 270 lb version to the prime 225 lb version who fought Lewis . . Briggs had awful stamina but incredibly fast hands for a big puncher.HomicideHenry wrote:keithmoonhangover wrote:Prime for Prime, which fighters does Wlad....

Frazier is not a 50/50 fight, that is a surefire Frazier victory. People always equate the Foreman fights with a fantasy matchup of Joe vs a super HW but Foreman was extremely aggressive and the punch that sealed that victory was the uppercut. Wlad would not be aggressive at all and has no uppercut. Wlad's "nice and easy pace" style he's employed post-Brewster won't work here as it does vs overweight plodders like Chagaev and Peter. The constantly moving Frazier will force Wlad to extend himself, and that's when the confidence loosens and the panic sets in.
Re: Which Post Louis Linnear Champions Would Wlad Beat?
It seems Wlad is getting more and more respect. It seems a couple of years ago he was dismissed on this board as pretty much of a joke. I don't know. I haven't followed the hw scene closely since Lennox Lewis retired.
BTW, I'm glad Lennox was the last boxer to beat him at a point in his career when he was well past it. Lennox is also a boxer who doesn't get the respect he deserves in some quarters.

Vlad's creeping up into quite a few people's top 10 alltime HW lists....I must be missing the joke ![[icon_knockout.gif] :KO:](./images/smilies/icon_knockout.gif)

You're confusing two men with the same surname. Lewis beat Vitali.ThatOne wrote:It seems Wlad is getting more and more respect. It seems a couple of years ago he was dismissed on this board as pretty much of a joke. I don't know. I haven't followed the hw scene closely since Lennox Lewis retired.

Re: Which Post Louis Linnear Champions Would Wlad Beat?
Spinks has no chance. Moorer virtually no chance. Marciano is definitely a better p4p fighter if that makes sense. But as Saad once said. Imagine fighting another guy but with a ruler on the end of each arm. Rocky is the better fighter but not better to the degree that it overcomes these huge size differences...against a guy who now knows how to sue them to perfection.
And the Marciano size difference applies to Charles, Walcott and a few others…
Holyfield was the toughest decision. I fully expect Evander to win. But not enough to bet on it. Holy lost to Bowe and Lewis…who also have the size thing going on…and he also lost to Moorer who I consider to be at best an average contender.

Re: Which Post Louis Linnear Champions Would Wlad Beat?
I think Marciano's punch would be the leveller against early Wlad, but later, once he learned to fight cautious, it's harder to see him landing it.

Re: Which Post Louis Linnear Champions Would Wlad Beat?
Seeing the list of great fighters people think Wlad the harpooner of retarded whales can now beat is simply scary.
I didn't realise spearing simply the worst, most clueless and out of shape heavyweights in history suddenly meant you weren't the same glass-jawed fragility that three separate B class fighters waded through with just a few spirited attacks.

Holyfield dealt with Lewis pretty well and arguably past his prime so maybe. With Tyson, I just see him as being too short to win more than 1/3. Wlad uses his height so well now.
