The only PPV's on your list are Taylor/Hopkins & Floyd/Guerrero.
The Mayorga/Spinks card was lame from top to bottom. Tito/DLH had to be the biggest let down for me.

Agree that Oscar-Tito was the biggest let-down.
Lewis-Tyson was a pretty atrocious PPV card.

Lewis Tua was the worst PPV fight I have ever watched. Absolutely terrible.

I just remembered Ibragimov/Briggs. That was brutal.
Re: Most boring ppv fights you have watched?
Probably B-Hop vs DLH...Juan Manuel Marquez was in the co-main event and it was dull too. Though I was really glad when B-Hop scored the KO.

After what I saw of the Oscar De La Hoya vs Felix "Tito" Trinidad and Lennox Lewis vs Evander Holyfield, that was the end of boxin for me. To me, these two fights were the ones to rescue boxing after the Tyson-Holyfield II fiasco, and it did not.

Especially considering the MASSIVE build-up it had.klompton wrote:Lewis Tua was the worst PPV fight I have ever watched. Absolutely terrible.

That whole "The fight to save Boxing" crap gets thrown around every 2 years or so. It's such a ridiculously over-dramatic bullsh*t hype mechanism to begin with.elmersalsa wrote:After what I saw of the Oscar De La Hoya vs Felix "Tito" Trinidad and Lennox Lewis vs Evander Holyfield, that was the end of boxin for me. I paid for Haye-Harrison and Haye-Wlad, the two fights that saw Sky drop PPV for a few years due to public outrage.

It has to be David Haye the PPV killer, versus Harrison & Klitschko.
OK, it was Harrison's fault more than Haye's in their 'fight', but the fact that he signed to fight Harrison in the first place was a joke.
Then again, being a PPV killer is not actually a bad thing!

Wow I knew those fights were bad, but I didn't know they caused that kinda backlashRadioElRadar wrote:I paid for Haye-Harrison and Haye-Wlad, the two fights that saw Sky drop PPV for a few years due to public outrage.

Christ almighty Duce, change the fugging record will you?
The Lewis/Tua PPV fight was dull but at least a good display of boxing by Lewis.
There was a great heavyweight rumble as the main support however- Clifford Etienne and Lawrence Clay-Bey had an outstanding brawl.
Clay-Bey looked so gifted, and so lazy. The more talented guy lost but it was a great fight that removed some of the Lewis/Tua sour taste.

Lewis vs Tua, Lewis vs Tyson.
I should of learnt my lesson when I bought the Tyson fight. A despicable performance by Lewis who held more times than a sailor does when hes clinging onto a mast during a stormy night.

They've wormed their way back in now, mainly on the back of Froch's success. Froch-Kessler II is the only PPV there's been since Haye-Wlad iirc, but Haye-Fury was definitely going to be PPV and I think Froch-Groves is PPV too.gilgamesh wrote:Wow I knew those fights were bad, but I didn't know they caused that kinda backlashRadioElRadar wrote:I paid for Haye-Harrison and Haye-Wlad, the two fights that saw Sky drop PPV for a few years due to public outrage.. I'm not too shocked about it though. I assume they weren't planning on making Haye/Fury a PPV then?
