Yep...I figured you weren't gonna leave out a handy barb like that. That's a popular comeback when your low on facts.
Furthermore, I imagine his mom honestly wore combat boots....would you agree?

Of all fighters who are on record, NO ONE Got away with more verbal hatred spewed by Ali ingilgamesh wrote:I heard a story once that he also took candy from a baby, pushed an old lady down a flight of stairs, and bought a child a toy just to smash it in front of him and then laugh.
I can't verify this of course, but it's a True Story.
modern times...To call a decent chap like Floyd Patterson an Uncle Tom reeks of racial hatred and stupidity...Could anyone picture a white fighter calling a black fighter, a racial name in modern times and getting away with this B.S. ? HELL NO...And what he called my favorite recent heavyweight Joe Frazier is something that I for one will never forget...Clay/Ali founded a cult of boxing fans who seemed to laud his ranting baloney....Bah I say...
Re: Cassius Clay, "I'm Fighting Uncle Tom Patterson'
Il Duce, you do have convictions. Yet you manage to stay out of jail.
I think you are very naïve. Especially about what just might have been ok within certain tight circles. And there is surely some cultural stuff that you just flat do not understand.
Most get that you think Ali was a very much on a "lesser" path, from the path you prefer.
But I doubt that we will begin to hear any less about this as time goes on.
Your repetition is only exceeded by the fact that you tend to state many themes over and over again.

I think the term you're looking for is "Nancy Boy"...so what? Did Ali f*ck your Dad then? Or maybe he f*cked you and didn't call?Il Duce wrote:gilgamesh wrote:Seriously I don't know what his problem is with him. Maybe Ali f*cked his Mom or something, but he truly hates him.
No I really don't think so, as Sonji Roi always thought that Cassius was a 'fancy boy'.
You know what a fancy boy is don't you ?
Not that there is anything wrong with it.
At any rate, by resorting to these kinds of petty insults towards Ali your credibility just falls further and further off the map. Not that you have much on the subject of Ali anyway...except amongst other haters that is.

hurting his opponents ,spouting racial epithets against people like myself who NEVER HURT HIM, and
defend his antics calling his opponents vile names, flaunting and taunting his defeated foes on the canvas ,tells me you are defending the indefensible...I saw the FOTC in 1971, and for once the good man prevailed....
Re: Cassius Clay, "I'm Fighting Uncle Tom Patterson'
I'm not defending his antics. For one thing he respected Floyd Patterson and I never heard anything about him calling Patterson and Uncle Tom except for from Il Duce. I don't doubt he might've done this, but it would've been for promotion of the fight and hype purposes. He respected Patterson.beaujack wrote:Sir, I don't know Il Duce, but for you to neglect and ignore the verbal garbage that Clay/Ali spewedgilgamesh wrote:

As for all the insults he launched at Frazier, he definitely crossed the line a few times and he got ass his kicked when they fought. So justice prevailed there.
I never said Ali was the greatest sportsman of all time, but I mean it's well established the kinda guy he was. He talked a lot of sh*t in the buildup to fights, usually he was considerably more respectful of his opponents after the fact.
Re: Cassius Clay, "I'm Fighting Uncle Tom Patterson'
Hit me up with the facts then ol' boy. Where is it documented that this was said? It wouldn't shock me if he said something like that. I've never confused Ali with a saint, but I'm also not stupid enough to buy every single thing from a guy like you who clearly hates his guts and wants to discredit him as much as possible.Il Duce wrote:Mr G-Man,

I know he called Patterson an Uncle Tom though as I've found that in my research.

"I have been told Clay has every right to follow any religion he chooses, and I agree. But by the same token, I have the right to call the Black Muslims a menace to the United States and a menace to the Negro race. I have a right to say the Black Muslims stink. I am a Roman Catholic. I do not believe God put us here to hate one another. I believe the Muslim preaching of segregation, hatred, rebellion and violence is wrong. Cassius Clay is disgracing himself and the Negro race. No decent person can look up to a champion whose credo is ‘hate whites.'"
Hauser's book also details Ali's response. Calling Floyd Patterson "a deaf dumb so-called Negro who needs a spanking," the former Cassius Clay went on:
"This little old dumb pork chop-eater don't have a chance. From eating pork he's got trillions of maggots and worms settling in his joints. He may even eat slime of the sea. Before the first round is over, people will say, ‘Forget it.'"
Nevermind I did it for you, and I elaborated on the fact that yes Ali said these things, but it was after a fairly disrespectful comment from Patterson as well regarding Ali's beliefs.

Re: Cassius Clay, "I'm Fighting Uncle Tom Patterson'
I don't defend everything that Ali did or said, but I absolutely defend his refusing to be drafted into an unjust war. WW2 was a war that had to be fought whether anybody liked it or not the last such war to take place. The Vietnam War was not, it was wrong and should've never taken place. Ali was right to refuse the draft. I would've done the same.beaujack wrote:All the more reason to have put him in prison for refusing the draft...Years before I and many pals of mine were drafted and served though we were not happy. In the eyes of Cassius Clay, that was an 'Uncle Tom' with a 100% Pure Label.
Can you post the source for this?
ie a quote where Ali mentions the fact that Floyd improving his education was the reason he called him an uncle tom.
Or did you just make it up?

I posted it because I respect The Truth. Even though I disagree with your stance on Ali and your hatred of him, I always feel it is important to verify when someone is speaking the truth. Which I, like it or not had to admit here. The things you said Ali said, he said.Il Duce wrote:Mr G,

But it does verify that EVERYTHING you say isn't complete horsesh*t at least. So if anything I did you a favor.

We have a little thing called due process in this country and Muhammad Ali availed himself of it. The Supreme Court granted him conscientious objector status by a unanimous 9-0 vote. That's how we roll in this country.
BTW, John McCain spent five years in the Hanoi Hilton and he thinks Muhammad Ali is just swell. If he can get over it anybody can:

Somebody took his place giving boxing exhibitions to the troops? I have to say at the time the blacks had plenty to be angry at their government about would you disagree with that? Also contrary to popular belief Americans would not be speaking German if they hadn't of joined the war for 2 reasons 1 Germany was already on their way to losing before America ever joined and 2 Germany never planned on attacking America.beaujack wrote:All the more reason to have put him in prison for refusing the draft...Years before I and many pals of mine were drafted and served though we were not happy. Actually, we didn't get involved in WW ll until the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. When we declared war on their ally ,Japan, the Germans declared war on us
And to compare WW ll where we were fighting a genocidal maniac who was responsible for nearly fifty million deaths to a civil war in a fourth world southeast Asian nation where we picked a side is farcical.

The War in Afghanistan, Iraq and the proposed war in Syria is a farcical mess and I see that now. Why would Ali not be able to see that about Vietnam in his own time the way I see about wars in my time?Il Duce wrote:Mr. G-Man,
Knowing what we know now, of course Vietnam was a 'farcical mess'.
The right intentions were there, but it was a 'No Win Situation' in the end.

But, don't for a second think that Cassius Clay was so 'in tune' on to what was
going on over there, that his cry for 'I'm not going to be inducted.' was a stance
against the war for all Americans.
He was not that 'deep', or that well informed.

Simply Put,,,,,, He just didn't want to be inducted into the U.S. Military, and have his good life disrupted.
I have no problem with that, only he couldn't admit it.

Ali barely graduated from Louisville Central High, a local basketball power, finishing 369th of 391 seniors in the class of 1960, and often traveling to fight on weekends. A principal named Atwood argued in his favor, stating to his colleagues that the boy should be given a Certificate of Attendance, given that "...one day he'll be making more money than everyone in this room.
The GOAT as Mr. Atwood so cogently noted had other things on his mind.
