In all seriousness, which heavyweight champions or contenders from 1990 onwards actually beat Wlad as he is today?

Is that with or without the wrestling ?
Without wrestling Wlad-da-Grab wouldn't be half as effective over 12 rounds ...fact.

It was a general question about who, on the modern era, with the tactics he uses, would beat him? Not saying no-one would, just wanted names who could get over the tactic.

BTW, no idea why you are being offensive...maybe because you are a worthless piece of garbage who is unable to remain civil?

Witherspoon is an interesting one.

Which version of Tyson? The one Lewis beat, or the other two incarnations?

I do feel that Holyfield may have been mugged out of the fight. He certainly wouldn't have been able to use the headbutts against Wlad

Holyfield beat a far better big man in Bowe - Bowe may have been at his peak very briefly, but he was an awesome fighting machine, had everything, great jab, cast iron chin, tremendous punch power, good combination punches, and terrific inside work, if Holyfield was able to overcome Bowe, he would beat Wlad.

A peak Lewis had a hard time with Holyfield in both their fights, and Lewis is way better than Wlad.

I remember having the second fight a draw, and BN having Holy winning 115-114, so you are right there.

Wlad has a quicker jab though, and may have racked up the points. I actually think it would have been a really good fight, or certainly interesting

Styles make fights, and Bowe came to fight, not something Wlad would have done

I'm not including Foreman and I'm doing best out of threes.

Bowe 2 Wlad 1
Lewis 3 Wlad 0
Tyson 1 Wlad 2
Holyfield 1 Wlad 2
Vitali 2 Wlad 1

None of the others would get a win.

No disrespect intended but if anyone thinks a peak Holyfield would not beat a peak Wlad, you have got sxxt for brains and know nothing about the sport.

Thats interesting stuff.

A lot of people say they don't rate them, but when it comes down to it, other contenders and champions just don't get the win. The Grant's, Tua's, Botha's, Akinwande's, Golota's or Moorer's wouldn't have beaten em.

So anyone who says that they are only champ's because everyone is a bum is wrong.

I think Holy would get one possibly two wins out of three versus Wlad. A lot of people grossly underestimate how effective Wlad's spoiling work is. He's realised that fighting inside against small guys is stupid if you can get away with clinching. If guys like Bowe and Lewis had taken a similar approach, Holyfield would've had nowhere near as much success against them.

Exactly, neither went as negative as Wlad did.

Would Holyfield have fallen for that clinch tactic over and over though? Something about the quality of his footwork tells me otherwise.

Who knows for sure? All I know is that when I watch my old Bowe fights now (he's one of my favourites) I think the way he fights inside against smaller guys is stupid - I never used to think that - and whilst it's exciting there's little wonder he slurs now.

Why didn't he tie things up? At least until the ref started docking points. It's not like he was averse to fighting dirty. Perhaps he just wasn't sophisticated enough tactically.

Wlad fought about 4 inches shorter and totally differently tactically when he fought Sanders. Go and do a compare and contrast.

So you don't think fighters can improve then?

I'm no great fan of WK, but anyone can see the difference between the young fighter who lost to Purity and today's version.

I think Wladimir tops even Henry Akinwande and John Ruiz in terms of being the worst titlist ever because he has been allowed to offend both his opponents and the viewers sensibilities for such a long period of time, while fully supported by the referees and commentators' Ministry of Propaganda while interest in boxing rapidly dwindles.

Here is the question:

A totally fair fight. A proper boxing match. Punches given and taken. Hard ass old fashioned referee not on any payroll refuses to allow Wladimir to hold, spoil, buy time, hit and hold. He is forced to stand and fight, as he used to back in 03, 04.

How long does he last? You know, not wrestling and spoiling. That old fashioned thing we all once called Boxing.
A disgrace.to think people called John Ruiz boring to think they accused Ruiz of hugging and criticised alongside bone crushert smith, and others......klitchkos has a disgusting throw one shot and lean on the foe style and when hit run tactics.people criticised haye and if u do a search on my comments at the time I said wlad only won by 2-3 points. Hate was demonized as he talked big before said he'd kayo wlad and lost us a packet.truth is hate came quite close and wlad used hugging there too and is afraid of finishing a fight taking a risk

He fought inside because he was effective inside, his uppercuts inside were devastating shots.

It seems like too many referees these days allow prolific holding - Wlad should never have been allowed to continually spoil against Povetkin, it's an infringement of the rules.

Essentially the question hangs on whether Wladimir has a corrupt referee who allows him to not fight.

So what's the point of the question?

In a straight up fight, he gets wasted like he always does.

Against men the calibre of which we're discussing, in his cheating homo-erotic non-fight, I still don't think he gets the wins. These are men competent in ways Wladimir has never in his life encountered. Witherspoon, Bowe, Tyson, and Holyfield were real nasty bastards who would return rough stuff and cheating with plenty of their own. There is no comparison between their boxing IQ, ability, and power and Alex frickin' Povetkin.

Astonished after the worst heavyweight title fight in history that people are now thinking 'well Wlad would beat everyone!' He couldn't even fairly beat Alex Povetkin!
