Juan Manuel Marquez v Erik Morales
It is amazing that within the trio of Marquez, Barrera and Morales. Marquez never fought Morales. Who would win this fight and why?

Their primes didn't intertwine, but predictably I'm going with Morales. He was more versatile.

I think it is mainly down to Marquez's career was a little slower to take off due to him being the more cautious technician of the three while Barrera and Morales were willing to mix it.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Their primes didn't intertwine, but predictably I'm going with Morales. Marquez became a better fighter at 130 and above than he was at 126 in my view. Not that he wasn't already a tremendous fighter at 126, but I think he really started to perfect his style and apply as well as possible at 130 and beyond.
So, all that being said. At 126 I'd take Morales W12.
At 130...if we're talking about the Morales of the first Pacquiao fight...I still gotta go with Morales W12, but it's a tougher bout.
135 or beyond Marquez takes it.

At 135 Marquez stops Morales??? No way . . Marquez's power is getting vastly over-rated from the Pac fight. From 126 through 135 this is a close and competitive matchup.
At 126-130 I'd pick Morales. At 135 Marquez. A shame this fight never happened . . two of my favorite fighters of the past 20 years.

Morales beat Pac in the most fair time frame they fought. I'd say he's got the edge over Marquez as well.

Garcia couldn't stop him in their first fight, neither could Maidana. He was a corpse for the rematch. Ya'll are hilarious with this stuff. It's like saying Tony Ayala could knock out Ray Leonard because Hector Camacho did it.Vladimir5555 wrote:Garcia was able to knock out Morales at 140SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Marquez stops Morales NEVER.Vladimir5555 wrote:At 126 - Morales clear decision
