How many live shows do you attend in a year?
How many live shows do you attend in a year?
I've found that unless I can afford to go ringside I would almost rather watch the fight on TV. So I rarely go to live events now unless they are the smaller shows at York hall where you are guaranteed an excellent view. (Even Ringside does not mean the view would be great unless you are in closed off press/promotions area). Too many times have I been to the big events and the view is shocking that I wish I had sat at home to watch it.
I appreciate you cannot beat the live atmosphere. I'd be interested to know how many events the people of this good forum actually attend in a year.

I agree with you - unless its a smaller venue I will always go for the more expensive ticket.
This sometimes isn't good so the TV, few beers and a takeaway with my mates happens instead.

Or like sat night u want to watch two different cards and flick channels.
I probably make 3ish a year. One "big" show and couple at York hall.

many fewer than I previously went to

I have sacked football off to be able to attend many more. Like most sports unless your say on top of the action the view is almost always better on tv. Nothing beats a live show though
Re: How many live shows do you attend in a year?
Now it's not very many I'm afraid. I don't really need a car nor can I be arsed with owning one - so that makes it a lot harder.
I find that "ringside" is a load of bollocks, 15-20 rows back and behind a corner post for £60-300? No thanks.
I went to Barrera a few years ago and did my research, got a brilliant view about 20yards from the ring and slightly higher than it, but because it wasn't on the actual floor it wasn't classed as ringside - actually had a better view than they did.

If you include amateurs, then it's quite a few. Always an 'event', a small hall and unlicensed, too.

Have been to 5 so far this year:
- Chisora, Cleverley et al @ Wembley Arena
- Froch vs Kessler II (ringside)
- Chisora vs Gerber (ringside) at Copperbox
- Hughie Fury at York Hall 2 weeks ago
- Goodwin promotions show at Watford Colosseum on Saturday (ringside)
Also had ringside tickets to Haye vs Fury
Will probably go to Copperbox again for Chisora at end of November and that will be my lot for the year.

I don't like to count. I had a lull after Ryan retired but now I'm off every other week. I like following all the Sheffield lads no matter which gym they're from. That keeps me very busy. Looking forward to the Hull show soon.

None.
The boxing scene is practically non-existent where I live.

1-3 normally a Cardiff show then I have to get to the likes of Manchester, Sheffield or London for a worthwhile show to travel to watch.
