Most Torturing/One-Sided/Prolonged PPV Main Events

Post by Shpati »

Name some of the most one-sided and torturing PPVs (not 1-3 tko/kos wins). Matches that went a decent distance, like where one boxer is just hammering his opponents with not much ko punches, but most mostly crosses and jabs. Kind of like the boxer is prolonging the fight.

Gatti vs. Mayweather

This was just brutal and a massacre. Mayweather was landing at will.

Vitali vs. Danny Williams

The is one of my favorite one sided matches. Williams had heart. He could have gone 15 rounds if he wanted to. Ref did good stopping the fight.

I remember my family ordered this fight, and my cousin was pissed at the one-sideness. after the match, He said "wtf, it looks like Vitali just shaved".

I am not even sure if Vitali trained for this match.

Tyson - Lewis

This was brutal. Tyson got demolished.

Ha, I still can't believe Vitali-Williams was a PPV. What the hell was HBO thinking . . .

I assure you he did. Vitali always trains hard for every fight.

Most one-sided and prolonged PPV main event I ever ordered and watched was probably Mayweather vs Baldomir. He wasn't necessarily beating the hell out of Baldomir, but he won every single round and none of them were close.

Hopkins torturing William Joppy for 12 rounds on a very lengthy PPV card 10 years ago.

I have the feeling his upcoming showdown with Karo Murat will be much the same.

I doubt very much he'll beat Murat half as badly as he beat up Joppy. They had a bet that Joppy wouldn't last the distance and Hopkins did all he could to cash in on that bet. He beat the holy sh*t out of Joppy in that fight.

He still knows how to win, but I don't think he could go all out beating the hell out of somebody like that anymore.

They were thinking that they weren't paying for that mismatch. PPV, except for in Floyd's case, falls on the promoter.

I bet at least 10 people $20 after the first round.

LOL, Williams/Tyson. I knew Danny had him after he took the early onslaught. They were all laughing at me.
