I'm glad you did a thread on Clark. I think in alot of ways Clark was a bit of a legendary figure, almost Paul Bunyanesque. Most consecutive knockouts, etc. and at the heart of it all he was just a regular guy like you or me. If he existed today he probably would of been a 'Toughman' superstar, and may of had a few fights as a pro. Then again---- being that fighters today take such soft touches to the top, maybe Clark would have been a top ten guy today, so who knows.

He was probably better than a Toughman competitor given that he was able to go over 9 rounds with a skilled fighter with a punch like Rademacher, but he was definitely journeyman calibre. A good modern day equivalent would be David Rodriguez.

The people that 'knock' Lamar Clark, knew nothing about the 'Cedar City Bomber'.

Just a raw 'strong boy', who was a High School Football Star, and was only 5' 10" and 180 lbs.

A 'project' of Marv Jensen, who had hoped to get Lamar some 'fame' by knocking out a bunch
of 'hamby-donnics'.
We knock him today because 99% of his kayo wins were over 0-0-0 opponents. No wonder people even then never heard of him. He was mostly fighting lumberjacks, miners, bar room brawlers, and pro wrestlers.
