i always had it that fighters got paid by the promoters and the promoters made profit from the shows themselves in big shows and small shows it was up to the fighters to sell tickets to pay for themselves and thier opponents.
just seem a thing on facebook saying boxers who dont pay thier promoter will be named and shamed. i was always under the impression boxers paid managers not promoters
do fighters pay promoters?

Re: do fighters pay promoters?
There's often a % applied in the contract to pay the Promotor, but often the Promotor waives it.
It would often be called in though if a boxer had a fight on another Pomotor's show.

Some promoters hold the right to fighters full income like sponsorship and things like that. Think these percentages are put in place to protect the promoter. I don't think these are enforced that often

I am sure bunny would enforce them through the courts if he had valid civil contracts
Re: do fighters pay promoters?
Also iv heard of boxers holding ticket money back and oweing it the promoters
Re: do fighters pay promoters?
Wouldn't it be the manager that had helped broker any deals that would be entitled to a share? For the majority of boxers any sponsorship covers training expenses doesn't it?daviddee wrote:Some promoters hold the right to fighters full income like sponsorship and things like that.
