Comeback Foreman vs Johny Nelson or Mike Hunter.

Post by keithmoonhangover »

Two very slippery fighters indeed. Nelson was incredibly difficult to hit and although his fights were duller than the pain work on a ten year old red car, could he avoid George's biggest shots for 10 rounds and sneak a decision? He was only stopped once and that was by a lightning quick cruiserweight.

Mike Hunter was a tough guy to catch with a clean shot and was only stopped in his last fight. Motivated and in good shape, could he win 6 rounds against Big George?

I think Foreman was too shrewd an operator to take these fights. I suspect Johnny would have run so much he'd never have got the decision, but it could have led to more heavyweight fights and less WBO cruiser defences. I suspect the occasion might have got to Hunter and likewise he would have come away with the wrong end of a close-ish decision.

I think Hunter is the more dangeros but I think Big George gets to him. Nelson sh*t himself against Henry Akinwande, he'd do even less against Foreman.

But Foreman was a lot slooooooower than Henry.

In fairness, when I met Akinwande, he was a very intimidating guy.

True, but do you see Nelson actually throwing any shots? His record at heavyweight was safety first journeyman at best, and Foreman is by far the best guy he would have faced, not to mention the most intimidating.
