Yep. Marquez landed enough punches early to take some of those rounds. Fight could be scored either way, to pretend otherwise is being disingenuous.
Yep, I agree with this, also, sitting ringside where the judges are is a totally different view to our view. Marquez clearly won a couple of the later rounds as well.

Code: Select all

# Winner Deductions Notes
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

7 Marquez [ ]
8 Bradley [* ]

10 Bradley [** ]
11 Marquez [ ]
12 Bradley [ ]

1 Final Scorecard

There were some close rounds but Bradley won the fight clean.
It was clear right from the opening bell that this was a different Tim Bradley than the one we saw in Provodnikov fight, he changed strategy and looked in superb physical condition.
Marquez is starting to look his age but still has plenty of boxing ability, that said Juan seemed to have a few problems as he was getting beaten to the punch and ate more than his fair share of straight right hands.
Tim did a good job of boxing from the outside and creating room for himself with some quality footwork and ring generalship.
It seemed like Marquez wanted to take the fight to the inside but Bradley would only do so under his conditions which turned out to be a smart ploy in the end.
The only negative thing I could say about Bradley was that he took his foot off the gas in the late rounds, I gave Marquez 3 of the last 4 mainly based on Bradley's reluctance to engage as much, he might want to pay some mind to that next time out.

1. Marquez 10-9
2. Bradley 10-9
3. Marquez 10-9
4. Bradley 10-9
5. Bradley 10-9
6. Bradley 10-9
7. Bradley 10-9
8. Bradley 10-9
9. Marquez 10-9
10. Bradley 10-9
11. Marquez 10-9
12. Marquez 10-9

I had it 115-113 for Tim Bradley

Had it 114-114. Gave Marquez 1,3,6,9,11,12. Def don't think Marquez won as the rounds Bradley won were more dominant. Some really close rounds I gave to Marquez. Could easily see 116-112 Bradley or 117-111 Bradley.

I was sitting ringside. I had it 115-113 Bradley, on the strength of the final round, specifically the shot that nearly dropped JMM.

If that shot had gone the other way, I would have had it a draw. I must admit, the Mexican influence in the audience was strong.

I haven't seen the HBO angle as yet.
