When will the next stadium fight be?
When will the next stadium fight be?
Quigg at Gigg lane
Barker at Stamford Bridge
Froch at the City Ground
Have all been talked about, but is that just a media thing or is Eddie going to get a stadium fight soon and what fight is big enough?

Whoever it is it'll be a good 9 months away
Re: When will the next stadium fight be?
Can't see any of them happening, there's no fight big enough for Froch to go outdoors, Barker isn't a big enough name and Quigg could fit more in at the MEN than at Gigg Lane which isn't really the right set up for boxing.WelshJack wrote:Quigg at Gigg lane

Re: When will the next stadium fight be?
I'm sure I saw Hearn say he wanted 2 stadium fights within the next 2 years, I wasn't sold on the whole Gigg Lane thing i've never been, but I would guess the facilities aren't the best.danconnollyeire wrote:Whoever it is it'll be a good 9 months away
Re: When will the next stadium fight be?
I think Froch v Groves/Kessler/Ward and then the big names outside of SM he would sell enough for the city ground.expe wrote:Can't see any of them happening, there's no fight big enough for Froch to go outdoors, Barker isn't a big enough name and Quigg could fit more in at the MEN than at Gigg Lane which isn't really the right set up for boxing.WelshJack wrote:Quigg at Gigg lane

Re: When will the next stadium fight be?
Ward won't come over here, Groves is next month and a Kessler rematch would most likely be on neutral ground.WelshJack wrote:I think Froch v Groves/Kessler/Ward and then the big names outside of SM he would sell enough for the city ground.expe wrote:Can't see any of them happening, there's no fight big enough for Froch to go outdoors, Barker isn't a big enough name and Quigg could fit more in at the MEN than at Gigg Lane which isn't really the right set up for boxing.WelshJack wrote:Quigg at Gigg lane

Re: When will the next stadium fight be?
I know but if they could get Ward over and Groves and Kessler agreed to City Ground it would sell.
Any other potential stadiums. Brian Rose v Canelo at Bloomfield Road haha?

Don't think the board would allow a show at the bombsite, plain dangerous in those stands lol.WelshJack wrote:I know but if they could get Ward over and Groves and Kessler agreed to City Ground it would sell.

Re: When will the next stadium fight be?
It wont be. It doesnt make any financial sense at all for that fight to be held on neutral ground.expe wrote: Ward won't come over here, Groves is next month and a Kessler rematch would most likely be on neutral ground.
The big, big money will be generated from the fight taking place in England or secondary, somewhere outdoor in Denmark.
Re: When will the next stadium fight be?
Was going to say the ground has been completed a while but then realised your location is set as Prestonexpe wrote:Don't think the board would allow a show at the bombsite, plain dangerous in those stands lol.WelshJack wrote:I know but if they could get Ward over and Groves and Kessler agreed to City Ground it would sell.

Bellew v Hopkins at Goodison?
Re: When will the next stadium fight be?
That would be something special.DMA1987 wrote:Bellew v Hopkins at Goodison?

Bernard is officially the only living human who was born before Goodison's turnstiles spun for the first time, so it would be quite a touching moment.DMA1987 wrote:Bellew v Hopkins at Goodison?

When are Millwall next playing?...
Re: When will the next stadium fight be?
It's still not safe, plenty went through the golf stand and people have put feet through the new one that wasn't meant to be permanent. The problem is that underneath the concrete, there's just a layer of plywood to support it, which gets wet and if someone jumps up and down they could easily fall through it. Even the older stands are shite, the seats are now pink/white because they were cheap and have faded after 10 years, the whole ground was built on the cheap.Naandrew wrote:Was going to say the ground has been completed a while but then realised your location is set as Prestonexpe wrote:Don't think the board would allow a show at the bombsite, plain dangerous in those stands lol.WelshJack wrote:I know but if they could get Ward over and Groves and Kessler agreed to City Ground it would sell.

I can't see Tony getting the best of StephensonWelshJack wrote:That would be something special.DMA1987 wrote:Bellew v Hopkins at Goodison?

I don't write him off, I mean it isn't at the Broner v Rees level of obviousness.palooka wrote:I can't see Tony getting the best of StephensonWelshJack wrote:That would be something special.DMA1987 wrote:Bellew v Hopkins at Goodison?
Re: When will the next stadium fight be?
Rees had been a champion the wight above and took his chance and didn't get what he wanted; Adonis is a power puncher and regardless of the odds or whatever is said on the last 2 bouts at least, Bellew will have to really box well to get out of Canada without a headache.
Re: When will the next stadium fight be?
I don't care if Rees had been a champion or not, he was never going to win that fight.palooka wrote:Rees had been a champion the wight above and took his chance and didn't get what he wanted; Adonis is a power puncher and regardless of the odds or whatever is said on the last 2 bouts at least, Bellew will have to really box well to get out of Canada without a headache.
Bellew is up against it, but I wouldn't be shocked if he did it. I expect Stevenson to win, but its not a foregone one like some have been.
Anyway stop thread derailing punk.

Re: When will the next stadium fight be?
If Haye actually fights Fury in early 2014, then a potential Klitschko showdown in the summer would be big enough?

Saturday mate, Haye v Maloney in the centre circle before kick off, should be better than the football.
Scott Quigg at Gigg lane would be an eye opener for the "millions watching around the world"
