Chisora Fighting Arnold Gjerjaj in November
http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_ ... &cat=boxer
Never seen the guy, but 22-0 with 16 KOs.
29 years old, been a pro four years, never really fought anyone of note, rated below Sexton, Lewison and Sprott on here.
A big step up needed from him to be competitive with Del Boy.

Scott-Gerber-Gjerjaj - seems a decline in opponent on paper at least
Re: Chisora Fighting Arnold Gjerjaj in November
There's nothing wrong with that as long as he stays active.Paullow wrote:Scott-Gerber-Gjerjaj - seems a decline in opponent on paper at least

I don't really see the point in this fight.

Re: Chisora Fighting Arnold Gjerjaj in November
I actually quite like this match, their styles will gel nicely and it'll be interesting to see how Arnold holds up against a guy as capable as Chisora. Arnold is a typical hard-looking Albanian, tall and rangy (round about 6'5" and 17 and half stone) doesn't look like he's a heavy lifter, more a Fury type physique. He's a relaxed switch-hitter who has a tendency to box fairly square on and not make the most out of his height. He's got good hand speed and his honey punch is a short right hook cum cross.

This fight won't go more then 3rounds, very easy to hit.. Reminds me of fury a bit but not as good..

It may do.Black Sam Bellamy wrote:Does this match move him closer to a world title fight ?
Chisora's previous three fights before getting a world title shot were; Losing to Tyson Fury (on channel 5, to maximise the people who got to see it), a points win over Remigijus Ziausys and a controversial loss to Helenius.
These days, it doesn't seem you have to do anything particularly spectacular at heavyweight to get a title shot.

This guy was sparring with Fury in Belgium in August. I think most people have made some good comments and comparisons on here already but he should give Del Boy a few hard rounds.Londonirish wrote:This fight won't go more then 3rounds, very easy to hit.. Reminds me of fury a bit but not as good..

No sir it is not. Keeping Chisora in the gym and active is the point.G0mez wrote:Pointless.
Re: Chisora Fighting Arnold Gjerjaj in November
Usually for anyone else that would be true but Chisora lacks focus, usually against opponents he has little regard for.keithmoonhangover wrote:No sir it is not. Keeping Chisora in the gym and active is the point.G0mez wrote:Pointless.
Back in April he fought Avila who is a journeyman whom lasted 9 rounds which in comparison to Malik Scott (tko 6) and Gerba (tko 5) underlines my point.
You take big risks doing bum fights with someone of that mentality, because they can come badly unstuck - and at heavyweight that can be painful.

Making a European title defence is not a bum fight. His opponent is not a bum. He's just untested at this level.G0mez wrote:Usually for anyone else that would be true but Chisora lacks focus, usually against opponents he has little regard for.keithmoonhangover wrote:No sir it is not. For someone that doesnt like people criticising fighters you referring to certain fights as "bum fights" kind of undermines your argument somewhat.G0mez wrote:Usually for anyone else that would be true but Chisora lacks focus, usually against opponents he has little regard for.keithmoonhangover wrote:No sir it is not. Re: Chisora Fighting Arnold Gjerjaj in November
its a good fight for 2 reasons.
1. stay busy vs undefeated fighter.
2. keep sharp b4 facing price

His style looks a lot like Hughie Fury's to me and on top of that facially he looks a bit like Hughie to me aswell.

Good to see him out again quickly, hopefully a bigger name beckons if he comes through this one unscathed.

Well I assume youtube is blocked wherever you are and I will be reminding you of that opinion in November !keithmoonhangover wrote:

Malik Scott and Edmund Gerber were of decent quality, but this is a yard step backwards.

I've watched him and of course, he's limited. He's being brought over to lose remember.G0mez wrote:Well I assume youtube is blocked wherever you are and I will be reminding you of that opinion in November !keithmoonhangover wrote:

Why not fight somebody that will enhance his career?Horse wrote:To keep busy.DMA1987 wrote:I don't really see the point in this fight.

Re: Chisora Fighting Arnold Gjerjaj in November
Because it's short notice, there aren't many people available, the promoter is on a budget and Chisora has the Price fight coming up.DMA1987 wrote:Why not fight somebody that will enhance his career?Horse wrote:To keep busy.DMA1987 wrote:I don't really see the point in this fight.
Even the best fighters in history had marking time fights.
