Timothy Bradley's Smoothie.
Anyone see that the other night? It had Spinach, Kale, Mint, Banana, Apple Juice, ginger, Probiotic, Aloe Vera and Spirulina. They said it had as much protein as a 24oz Steak. Where's the protein come from in that drink?

Nah only spirulina is a meaningful protein source here, mate.SouthpawStephen wrote:I saw a video of Bradley saying he takes Living Fuel, which is a plant based protein mix. It has 21 grams of protein in one serving. He probably adds this to it.
Add that to the protein in spinach, kale, bananas. And spirulina is rich in protein as well.

Besides, we can forever go about Bradley's super foods/smoothies but we'll never find out whether he'd perform (even) better should he be eating eat animal protein.

Re: Timothy Bradley's Smoothie.
Do anyone know what Bradley's diet plan looks like when in training?
Re: Timothy Bradley's Smoothie.
I got some of those Spirulina tablets from Holland and Barrett but I must admit I only took them twice. Some kind of sea-algae I think, meant to contain protein.
Scott Jurek is a Vegan athlete and he swears by it. Runs ultra-long distances etc.
I've mixed Spinach leaves with chocolate whey protein before and a slug of OJ and it tasted nice.

Re: Timothy Bradley's Smoothie.
I was taking Spirulina as an additional supplement from Feb 1st-10th. After 2days I became very tired, lacking in energy and strength, couldn't do my usual exercise, could go to sleep anytime I liked and had trouble getting up in the mornings, like I turned into a sleep machine. No other ill effects or signs of other illness. Not on any other supplement or medication. I've returned to normal in the past 2days.
I can't be positive the spirulina was to blame but i feel better now I've stopped taking it.
Anybody else had this experience with Spirulina?

i had the same thing! i have a thyroid condition that does the same thing to me sometimes, so i wasnt sure whether that was to blame more than the spirulina, but i definitely felt the same thing !
ive tried to go completely vegan for a couple of weeks before just to try it and i had to stop after a week, it was too difficult/inconvenient, and also more expensive to get the same nutrition, and i felt weaker and generally more tired all the time! more power to those who do it, but its not for me!

So it's not only me! It took me a couple of weeks or more to recover my usual form. Someone tried yo suggest it was toxins leaving my body, but i call BS on that. Ive inadvertently been a clean eating, straightedger for a while now, if i even eat bread these days it fvcks up my insides. Im surprised how noteable the difference when i eat bread or various proccessed foods. Spirulina and other algae is off my list!!belowthebelt wrote:pablothunder wrote:I was taking Spirulina as an additional supplement from Feb 1st-10th.
