That's another reason why he won't reach 400 bouts at 19.

Any truth that Curry beat fellow temporary pro sensation Bobby Joe Young as a amateur?

I found Curry won the Gold Cup in Kenya in 1980 for the countries who boycotted the Olympics. He lost a USA-Cuba dual meet in 1978 to Jose Aguilar 0-3. He also lost by stoppage on cuts to Swedens Vesa Koskela in a dual meet in 1980.

I remember seeing somewhere that Donald and Milton McCrory almost fought in a tournament, but they both lost before the potential matchup.Does anyone know the tourney this was in?

If the truth be known.

Don Curry was probably the best amatuer boxer ever to come out of the US.
