Difference is that Hatton was a fighter on the way up, and Tszyu was nearing the end of a long hard career.

Calzaghe hasn't fought a genuine top 10 opponent since Byron Mitchell, is in his 30's, has a history of injury, and hasn't looked truly convincing in a long while.

Lacy is young, confident, strong as a bull and improving.

If you are going to make comparisons, at least think about whether it stacks up or not.

Hatton got Tszyu at the perfect moment, Lacy if anything will be the one getting Calzaghe at the perfect moment.

What the hell? Joe hasn't been inactive as much as Tszyu though and still is fast enough to outbox Lacy.

Lacy's all that no doubt but I don't think he has the speed and the experiance to beat Joe yet and he won't be as fast. He can have all that all he wants buts it's crap without skill and speed.

Lacy's got so much hype off former Calzaghe oppostion like Reid and Sheika but Joe beat a much better Reid with a broken hand and he stopped Sheika in 5 on cuts because he was so easy to hit yet Lacy was struggling and won a decision.

Vanderpool was outboxing him till he traded.

Lacy needs to gain some speed.

Least Joe didn't need the refs help to beat Reid either. Might of not won anyway but thats still no excuse.

He even got away with a clear back of the head shot withPemberton!

Gain some speed? Why? He's hardly a slick boxer is he? I don't really see how he could improve it that much anyway. And you're clearly clutching at straws with this behind the head nonsense, Pemberton had turned his head slightly but they were hardly rabbit punches. Come on stop this pointless biased posting.

Tszyu had also turned in far more creditable performances, like blasting Mitchell into oblivion in recent times, although he did appear to struggle with Leija early on.

Sheika boxed more against Lacy than usual, and point is, he still lost. I don't think Calzaghe is the fighter he was when he beat Sheika either.

Lacy isn't slow, watch him against Reid you see that he was timing Reid pretty easily, and his combination punching is pretty impressive for such a muscle bound guy.

I agree that the ref didn't help Reid, but there was no way on god's earth Reid was going to win that fight, he just didn't have the output to trouble lacy.

I am not saying Calzaghe cannot win a fight with Lacy, but I make Lacy a slim favourite, based on youth, activity, and most of all desire. If and when it goes to the trenches, will Joe be prepared to go all out to win it? Lacy probably wants it more at this stage of their respective careers, and has the physical rescources that Joe is unlikely to with his history of injury and long layoffs.

Vanderpool was outboxing him till he traded, but ask yourself this, why did he start trading. It may have had something to do with the fact that her realised that Lacy wasn't going to stop coming and was getting tired, maybe not, but it's a possibility you should think about.

When Joe was decked, he stood and traded with Byron Mitchell and Kabary Salem, if he tries that with Lacy, I think he will go the same way as Reid.

Well thats why I think he'll outbox Lacy to decision and Reid was past it anyway and cared more about modeling than boxing otherwise he could of stayed talented lke when he won the WBC title in Italy. The Reid who won that title in Italy would beat Lacy.

Reid's gone slow himself though and heavily muscled so no wonder Lacy looked good against him and was able to actually throw some combinations as Reid was even worse!

Plus Joe beat Reid in his prime and with a broken hand.

No doubt Joe's not what he was when he fought Sheika but still enough to outbox Lacy and he's only about 32 so he still has alot of speed left. Sheika lost and if Lacy has youth over Joe and if he's really that quick why didn't he stop Sheika like Joe did? He seem slow against Pemberton and had to hit him in the back of the head to win!

Joe went down from Mitchell and Salem but he got up and he's only ever been down twice so he ain't got a bad chin.

If Lacy wins I'll believe the hype otherwise Joe has fought better opp than him at the moment and Lacy's just getting the hype of past their prime former Calzaghe opponents.

Well if Lacy kept coming at Vanderpool then maybe Syd's a light hitter and ain't anything special and even Sheika troubled him a bit and Joe hits harder than them two so fighting Joe should prove his chin since it hasn't been yet.

Can;t really make him a favourite since his hype and best wins over past their prime guys Joe already beat.

Reid has always been heavily muscled and quite slow, even in his heyday he was one paced and predictable. Quit with the back of the head bullshit it was not a rabbit punch you are clutching at straws!

Pemberton turned his slightly and the shot hit him on the side of the head. I've not heard anyone else complaining about it.

That punch is clearly on the temple for fucks sake. Do you even know what a rabbit punch is? Clearly not if you think that is a rabbit punch.

Just so you DO know. A rabbit punch is when a fighter is punched on the back of the head or neck when either their back is turned, or a fighter clubs them in that area from in close. That was a right hook which landed on the side of the head high up, and ONLY because pemberton tried to turn away.

I do know what a rabbit punch is. That was just behind the ear on the top of back of the head.
That was not a rabbit punch, get over it.
Over what? Are you assuming I'm crying over it? All I said it was a rabbit punch, but you seem to go agressive like just because I think Joe will win and because am a Calzaghe fan.

Man can;t wait to see Joe hold that IBF title. :TU:

Because you keep mentioning it every 5 minutes! It's not a rabbit punch at all. I am not being aggressive at all, you are reading my posts in that way obviously - I am just putting things right. I have not heard anybody else on any internet sites call that an illegal punch apart from you. Be a Calzaghe fan by all means but trashing anyone mentioned in the same breath as the 'Pride of Wales' is a bit much. You've even started trashing Hopkins because somebody put up a Calzaghe v Hopkins thread, a fight that is never going to happen.

Go to ESB they say it was a rabbit shot.

Every 5 minutes when I've only mentioned it about 3 or 4 times?

What has Lacy done though thatmost people think he'll beat Joe so easily though? Most on the current scene are posting that for some reason anyway and most here including you are just as bad trashing Joe when he's clearly done more than Lacy.

You just sound agressive with words in caps and the swearing if your not my mistake.

Lacy seems tough since he walks through punches unless those guys are light hitters so I'll go for Joe by UD.

I'm sure Joe has backed out of fights just as much as some have.

But it is hypocritical when someone says I trash someone when everyone on here trashes Joe all the time as soon as he says something.
