with Cassius Clay in Lewiston. I saw Clay up at his Training Camp {Chicopee, Mass.}
and he's fast, but I was not impressed with his power. He was sparring with a
bunch of 'stiff-legged' guys who couldn't move, and he couldn't drop any of them."

'Jack could get up off his Lounge Chair, and take Clay 3-Minutes without breathing
hard, and he's damn 70 Years-old."

"On Sonny Liston, it is possible that the long walk from the 'dressing room' to the
'Ring' took a lot out of him. That will do it to any 50 year-old broken down old
war-horse."

Dempsey, Tunney, and Sonny have a better chance of running through Hell in a gasoline suit then have of beating Muhammad Ali.

"I just don't know. I never saw a punch, or a punch with any force land. Everybody
thought Sonny tripped over his big boat-feet. And if he did go down from a soft-punch
like that, he would have gotten up immediately, not flopped around like a Fish that
they just pulled up on a boat."

"If this was real, then Cassius should be able to 'Knockout' his next opponent {Floyd Patterson}
even quicker, maybe 30-Seconds."

When I see photos like this I'm always interested in the facial expressions of the people at ringside.

I wonder who the old guy with the shades in the lower right happens to be. Sonny's financial planner, perhaps? :wink:

He was probably praying Sonny had a good life insurance policy or the 60's version of ObamaCare.

Liston got up and the fight continued, with Ali laying into Liston. Nat Fleischer should have kept his mouth shut and there would have been none of this controversey. The fight continued.
